The best way for output sound is via hdmi or optical cable. Both have surround sound. If ur monitor doesn't support for sound input then I suggest u output d sound via optical cable to home theatre / PC.

U r not the 1st to encounter this and this worries me as most of my games playing now r digital and seldom use the disc drive yet.

Just tried once during the 1st day when got the console for playing 15min bluray movie only
