Timid Eevees are generally not good for making an Umbreon because Umbreon is a wall, the added speed nature does not benefit it's poor speed of 65. A good nature for Umbreon would be Calm nature, if I'm not wrong, it minus Attack, and plus Defense, something a wall would need.

As for Umbreon's IV spread, I would suggest either 5IVs without Attack or Sp.Attack, depending on what moves you wanna put on Umbreon (usually people will leave out Attack).

Your timid Eevee is suitable for being a Jolteon. It has high speed, and good Sp.Attack.

I'm not very sure myself. Cuz I started competitive breeding only after receiving it. But I would say it sometimes work and sometimes doesn't.

With Pokemon that 'get along very well', you'll get eggs hatching quite fast that you need hatching power 3 to catch up most of the time.
If it's Pokemon that 'doesn't seem to like each other very much', it's usually quite slow but sometimes they have short moments where suddenly egg comes out non-stop, so you'll need the hatching power for those times.

I don't even play battle spot anymore, don't really like the format. Prefer 6v6 for singles and doubles, which is why I just go online, put my message 'Let's Battle!', and hope someone who knows competitive challenges me to a battle.
