Hi guys so after a week and a half after using Z1 I found out (I had a big phone upgrade so this is all relatively new to me):

1. battery life is magnificent! really like the stamina mode biggrin.gif

2. i did install some apps for camera (360, motion shot) and use it along with other features with AR being my current favorite (siblings like to play with it) rclxms.gif

i try to use manual mode for scenery images but every time fail doh.gif
that is until i've read the photo settings on first page and quoted translation of photograpgy guide from @ChuanHong so thanks a bunch, will try it soon rclxms.gif

3. the frequent use of the phone will generate very unusual and discomforting heat that often terrify me like "is this normal or what?!" ohmy.gif

but my real question is this, if we root our device, does the warranty with sony malaysia considered void? hmm.gif
i've read some articles regarding the advantages of rooting but so far i still haven't come across an article about the disadvantages of rooting mainly the sony malaysia set.

your help is very much appreciated thumbup.gif

Only if you root, 'killed' your device, and they know it came from rooting, then maybe they have a list which devices were broken by user end hmm.gif
For the heat, if you're still on 4.2.2 ; kindly update to 4.3, the heat is noticeably REDUCED.
so if i were to root or 'kill' my phone, then the sony people will automatically know that my device is rooted, and then what's the status for my warranty?

oh, I just recently updated to 4.3. will try to use it frequently to check. thanks a bunch! thumbup.gif

Like I said, if they know, it may be voided as you installed something not allowed in the T&C.

Rooting on Sony devices I'm not sure... but unlocking bootloader is entirely not allowed.
Besides, only if they are able to access your phone entirely, maybe with terminal (command prompt for Linux) they'll know you have root or not. Without access, how are they gonna find out by just looking at the phone? laugh.gif
I know this cos I just bricked my Z1, sent to them but I hope they don't find out wink.gif

Chances are slim cos the phone cannot power on.

there must be some terrible issues with our phone if they were to inspect our phone using command prompt for linux is it.
so in your case, you think that your chances for them not to find out that you've already bricked your phone is slim
but why the phone cannot power on if they do? blink.gif

so it really is a gamble to brick your phone for sony warranty hmm.gif

but there are so much access and good stuff after we root that make me think that i want to do it.
so what do you do exactly after you brick your phone? did you change a lot of stuff from the default setting?

you're getting me wrong

if they really want to find out in detailed, see under applications drawer also will know ur phone rooted or not laugh.gif cos got the SuperSU or Superuser app. besides, if u have busybox is also another app requires root.

mine is some kind of brick whereby the phone can be seen charging or the PC detects connection on and off, but it cannot be switched on. sweat.gif i've tried charging for 2 days straight, still cannot. so chances are slim unless they have their own tricks up their sleeve to have it switched on again

but usually when you send your phone for repairs (basically warranty), you'll lose your data, which means they'll be flashing new firmware or something over your current to prevent any data clashes.

not entirely a gamble, just that if you know what you're doing, you won't send for repair. i accidentally bricked it cos with my Xperia J, i've never had any issues with flashing/custom ROMs.

brick dy cannot do anything. I can only look at my Z1 physically and drool at its beauty... haha biggrin.gif and yeah, just root if you want, but you need to revert back to old firmware for that...

oh, i'm really sorry that i've misunderstood you but i think i'm getting your point now.
so there are apps that requires root to gain access to. interesting hmm.gif

again, this is all very new to me and maybe i'll think about it once more to root or not to root.
thanks again, bro thumbup.gif

hey guys have anyone tried using the smart connect app? it says that this app can connect-disconnect charger according to the time that we set so I thought that this app may be useful to charge overnight.

so I set the charging time to 1 or 2 hours before going to sleep and woke up 8 hours later, my phone is still charging ohmy.gif

so does anyone have any idea how to solve this. have tried a couple of times after that, got same result sad.gif ayam sked that overcharging can effect my battery sad.gif
