Hi,

I just got my Xperia Z1 recently and i seem to have a problem with the screen being active even when i am on call.
Is there a setting that i need to change? cant seem to find it sad.gif

I ran the diagnostics thingy and it detects when i cover the proximity sensor...

Hi Joanne

Do you have the dial pad on while on a call?

With regards,
Frankie.

Hi,
Nope. Dialpad is not on. Happens with incoming calls. I cut off my call because it was active n I set my phone to airplane mode >.<

Lol.. But usually it touches my face when I talk.. The screen shouldn't be active when my face is near anyways..

Don't have to put so near. Your friend can hear you just fine if your phone (top) speakers contact your ears. tongue.gif

Try again, without the face touching the screen, see if that helps.

Lol.. I'll try.. But I still think it shouldn't be like that ;(

Hi all~

Not sure if this question was posted before but couldnt find anything related to it.
Just wondering, is there an option to view the pictures that you take (using camera) when in WHatsapp before the app sends it?
Seems that my whatsapp will jus send the photo taken without giving me the option to retake...

>.<

Thanks~!

I always take a photo with the camera app then see if I'm satisfied with it before attaching it in whatsapp.

Enable it again. Play Store installer service runs in the background IIRC.

If you don't want your Play Store from automatically updating your apps, you can toggle it via the settings located in the play store itself.
*
I already did that with the backup data running.. but if i do that.. the Android OS data will go up...

QUOTE(ckchan @ Jan 22 2014, 02:44 PM)
are u referring to background data?

and your question is referring to the high data usage by the android OS right?

if i am not mistaken, the android OS may be referring to any uninstalled apps that have used up the data.

eg. u have been playing online game of say COC alot and use up 500mb of your data.
in the data usage it will show COC with 500MB data usage
but if u uninstall COC, in the data usage chart will show android OS with 500MB data usage since COC is no longer in your phone
*
I havent uninstalled any games ~ ive ony been using the phone for 3 weeks sad.gif

Backup or Background?

If Backup, then enable background and disable backup.
*
The background data is not disabled. Its in the data usage section rite? i didnt check to disable background data box..

QUOTE(ckchan @ Jan 22 2014, 03:05 PM)
... not only games la. any other apps which use data that u have uninstalled recently?

oh, and did u use data to update your phone via OTA recently? i think OTA updates of system apps or firmware consider android OS also
*
ermm.. i got my phone on the 3rd of Jan.. i started using it on the 4th of Jan and did all the required updates and stuff within the next 2 days... which shouldnt be included in this cycle of data.. correct? cuz the cycle is set from 14th Jan onwards...
I didnt uninstall anything since its new.. barely had time to install other things.~ lol..

its happen to me once last time the phone sucking my data quota furiously. later i figured out playstore updating my apps automatically. all outdated apps were updated to latest version. ensure your playstore setting to update only by your preferred option. over wifi or do not auto update. unless you have high quota then can choose auto update
*
QUOTE(jloi @ Jan 22 2014, 05:23 PM)
mm my update center show very low data usage only, 22kb.
Suspect update center are the one use to load any new update and Android OS maybe download the OS?
You can turn on WIFI only for updating OS. Go update center, setting then turn on Update via wifi only. Also untick the "allow automatic download".
*
Its already set to that from day one. Update only on WIFI connection. I updated the OS using wifi as well.. sad.gif

it is google syncing right?
those sync google+, google+ photos etc
guess photos are main culprit
*
I think its caused by the back up thing.. where they back up everything to ur google~
i disabled that and the data usage for the Android OS background thing isnt going up that fast~

Hi all.. Not sure if this has been asked before..
I'm currently having issues with connecting to my office email (outlook exchange).. It worked for a week when I newly got my phone.. But now I keep getting this error 'unable to establish connection'..

Been trying to connect for the past 3 weeks.. I can connect using other phones n even tested with my colleagues logins.. All don't work on my Z1 but works on other Android phones..

Any advice would help.. Don't wanna use a third party app..

Goto Server setting, incoming setting..
if your office use secure email try to untick and tick SSL and certificate. Also check the port use. 25 or 443.
Noise cancelling mic was there...
Hi~
tried that.. whether it is checked or unchecked.. comes up with the same error. "Could not open connection to server". Port used is 443...
