yeah people who are not familiar to Sony will often get cheated because they don't know who is the distributor. btw, I don't think AP sell in sealed box, do they?

as i know it does comes with a normal clear type SP.

i got all those mentioned. in fact, still not use the screen protector that came with it.

The SP should be in a separate wrapper inside the box. I remember mine dropped out when I open the casing to check when COD-ing with seller.

Hi guys so after a week and a half after using Z1 I found out (I had a big phone upgrade so this is all relatively new to me):

1. battery life is magnificent! really like the stamina mode

2. i did install some apps for camera (360, motion shot) and use it along with other features with AR being my current favorite (siblings like to play with it) 

i try to use manual mode for scenery images but every time fail
that is until i've read the photo settings on first page and quoted translation of photograpgy guide from @ChuanHong so thanks a bunch, will try it soon

3. the frequent use of the phone will generate very unusual and discomforting heat that often terrify me like "is this normal or what?!" 

but my real question is this, if we root our device, does the warranty with sony malaysia considered void? 
i've read some articles regarding the advantages of rooting but so far i still haven't come across an article about the disadvantages of rooting mainly the sony malaysia set.

for the first page, the rooting section. better put a warning for the locked bootloader method, because many fail to do it successfully and result in bootloop. better recommend people to stay at .257 for the time being if wan rooted

so if i were to root or 'kill' my phone, then the sony people will automatically know that my device is rooted, and then what's the status for my warranty?

there must be some terrible issues with our phone if they were to inspect our phone using command prompt for linux is it.
so in your case, you think that your chances for them not to find out that you've already bricked your phone is slim
but why the phone cannot power on if they do? 

so it really is a gamble to brick your phone for sony warranty 

but there are so much access and good stuff after we root that make me think that i want to do it.
so what do you do exactly after you brick your phone? did you change a lot of stuff from the default setting?

i've been wondering if should continue use stamina mode or not? isn't always off/on reduce the longevity of the phone? i plan to use it for some time...better still when this CES no new flagship announced. our this thread can lives on for a longer time period

Hope someone can help me on this...  Bought a Z1 LTE unit last month at DirectD. The box is sealed with Dynamics sticker but there is no warranty card inside. Am i having an ori unit or AP unit ? :'(

1a. Is it the model code for LTE model, and it means 4G?
1b. If is 4G, how should I check when I purchasing it?

ahhhhh...  headache headache headache... called dynamics distributor... they said their work is just to distribute phones.. regarding sony warranty card, packaging and etc are all done by the dealer which is DirectD..

Called DirectD... they said just bring the proof of purchase, should be ok.. nothing to worry.. all my customers claim warranty like that.. 

I went to sony centre, they mention should have warranty card inside the box..

Im confused, please suggest me what do guys... The only testing left for my Z1 is the underwater test.. other than that, phone is ok... It gets overheat while using camera app and some heavy gaming... really really hot..  you guys facing this overheating issue while using camera ?

Congrats you got your phone back, finally!! Seems you got good service as well.

Have to change whole motherboard? Looks like really kaput the ROM edi. Something all Z1 users looking to custom ROM need to be careful about.
