just updated my z1 to 1.136 last weekend thru pcc. felt really lazy to go thru the whole flashing via recovery and flashtool to get root. cos the method is not entirely straight forward and with each update from sony also have to go thru such long process... so i just tot what the heck and update it thru pcc. simple.

hope that those simple rooting kit will be updated to root latest sony fw in future

so for this 136 update really felt not much changes to me. the white balance here functions differently from what i flashed the ported version b4. the ported version, i only need to run the white balance and leave everything to 0 and the screen will be as white as it could (too white that it felt abit too cold). but the white balance in 136, if left everything in 0, the screen is in the original yellowish tone. so this time i have to increase the blue to 100 to get the white i prefer.

camera, wifi and battery, so far no noticeable changes

u mean like if i pressing the number 222, it will display phone numbers with 222 or names with aaa, aab, abc,...etc? if that's what u asking, yes, it does search the contacts using the dialpad

are you guys using stock rooted rom by nuts ?

z1 owner checking in! used this phone for roughly 1 month and still loving it. find no reason to root it. liked the interface, battery, camera and pretty much everything(comparing to my old s2 =.=).
the only problem is it is kinda hard to find case for this phone and it is pretty hard to handle the phone with its slim and big surface. it slip and drop from my hand once and got a tiny dent in one corner d.

I read in the Xperia support stating that the proximity sensor is working slower than expected, up to 2 secs lag. How is it working for you guys. I am still at the previous version and it is really fast. Does it fix the sound enhancement/settings for the new update?

can someone confirm if our Z1 already come with screen/back protector? I just notice there is another layer on top of glass for both sides. Is that true? Do I need additional screen protector?

how do you update with? PCC or SUS? Do a full factory reset and then back it up back?

That looks like some hard plastic case. I want something that has the kind of rubber feel. Most importantly, it must be shock absorbent.

May I know what's that for? That little slot by the side of the camera, the one that looks like a slot for the earpiece at the back of the phone. I saw this same hole, like the shape of the earpiece at the front right on the same spot of you casing. As for my casing, I didn't get a cut out for that. And looks like I'm having a hard time looking for transparent silicone case. I think I'm going to try my luck with silicone bumpers. So far, almost every bumper I've seen for this phone are all made from metal/plastic.

yeah i'm finding thin silicon case that can be used with magnetic dock without cutting or taking off it all the time. seeing the drop test how nothing breaks but the phone can't turn on? I will prefer something shock resistant as well...
