happens to come across this thread when researching y510p. currently i m having a budget of 3000-3500 and considering getting a gaming lappy. i need a lappy with better sustainabilty and requires low maintenance.

Official announcement for 800M series is next week, some of the GT, GE and GS series have been refreshed with 800M series GPU in China, for Malaysia to have stock, as usual, may be after 1~2 months sales in China in my opinion.

FYI, this website is all written in Chinese language, but you can use Google Translate as well. They also have snapshots for those refreshed units, price is quite good including the specs. Meanwhile, Malaysia sets is expensive and more basic specs, really unfair to us.

So if I buy y510p now and when the 800series release, can I install it thru the Ultrabay ?

Nope，bcs 755M and 860M are different GPUs, plus, no news for Y50 that will be featured with ultrabay, most probably it will be single GTX860M only.

Is there a different version of y510p. I see some ppl said dunno what SLI version.. I only play dota2. Is this laptop good enuff ? Or any other suggestions for budget bout 3500?

MSI GP60 2OD is meet your requirement and I have good experience with this lapto p.
