Are the non-local, international/foreigners, allowed to get jobs? I heard that you have to have a work permit, some people say yes and some said no. So...yeah, I was just wondering..thanks!

QUOTE(x_far_x @ Jun 29 2006, 05:23 PM) Are the non-local, international/foreigners, allowed to get jobs? I heard that you have to have a work permit, some people say yes and some said no. So...yeah, I was just wondering..thanks! Yes, they can work here as long as they have the legit working permit and visa to stay (for most foreign countries). Having student visa alone is not enough. You need to verify that with the Immigration Department though. However, If you're a permanent resident, you do not need the working permit or visa. |

So like I have a student's visa, so I guess I can't get a job here then? My friends said it all depends on the interviewer...man, I really need a job.

If partime jobs (when u work in schools holiday with minimum 30 days), do not need visa. Better ask ur boss at work or student service at ur campus for responsibility.. please correct me, if I'm wrong.. thx |

So if I did get a job, they will obviously pay in cash right? And it says on my visa that I'm here to just study. So I guess I should ask if they hire a non permit carrying student. Ehh...I need money and prostitution is not a high paying job, lol jk jk.
If anybody has experience with this, please do tell...thanks. -FaR This post has been edited by x_far_x: Jul 4 2006, 05:01 PM |
