wan to ask, can i use spinning rod to cast fish lure? (fake fish)
or must i buy a baitcasting set?
*
Why not? smile.gif
Gentle reminder, remember to check your rod ratings, too heavy lure might break the tip of your rod or u might not get the expected distance when the your lures are too light.

The line in your reel plays a very important role also
Lower poundage makes your cast further coz its lighter same goes its opposite for the heavier poundage lines.

Also know the fish that your're targeting.diff lure brings out diff actions coz diff fish also takes diff action of lures.from there you'll get a better advantage

Theres no 100% catching fish lures,
Its all 70% luck 30% hardwork.

Lure fishing will hurt the angler's wallet more than the fishes he catches.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Lures attracts human more than fishes.

Dont you all agree?

Hahaha not to forget reel & rods too

oh the ones at rawang? tongue.gif on viox's request, CR at rawang toman pond. (RM100/4hour)
delayed CR (2 weeks ago) because kinda busy after back from kl.

4 of us went from 8am-12pm. i landed 2. another friend landed 3. rest no luck
on reaching the pond helpers told us toman not biting. nvm try luck nia. besides, we got the pond to ourselves the whole morning.
first hour threw all sorts of topwater plugs. nothing.  hmm.gif very stocked small pond but the fishes i think like PhD or smth.
after that i switched to jerkbaits. kinda worked if u jerk rapidly. hooked up two within 30 mins with an x-rap
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

a friend also switched to jerkbait and landed 3 within 40mins. lagi hiong. rclxms.gif
but then after 10pm the bite rates drop. the fishes sorta headbutt the lures only.  got also foul hook and lepas sweat.gif
if wana go try go as early as possible. no need bother with topwater lures. try suspending minnows, jerkbaits and when it gets hotter, divers.
not sure if still open by may. they mentioned open for one month only
*
Exactly..i was looking the at thier fb page since the pre-open week..and i reliaze every photo with lure are all bottom action lures..soft plastic, deep divers, sinkin minnow..im like hmm.gif you gotta be kiddin me.

max drag 11kg powerful or not for a low profile baitcaster?
speed is 6.3.1......I acutally prefer slower reels....
oh well

there is that part where it says high capacity reel..............I wonder what they meant by that.
i'm talking about a low profile baitcaster. but you brought up a level drag reel build to fight bull shark.
that's like taking a rifle to a gang fight.

i'll humour you.
if a level drag reel like shimano tiagra is not powerful....that I guess it pointless to made it in the first place now isn't it.

i tried it out in an empty car park. and i compare the casting distance with my banax GMC.
funny thing is my banax can further compare to daiwa lexa.

FYI i'm testing my casting distance using a no 5 sinker. that weight 18g a pieces.
eee using 0.33mm monoline.
*
Monoline (assuming your using 10-15lb line from od you're saying) its still heavier compare to braided lines
Mayb the spool control knob settings too tight.
