Had tried rom 4.4.2 but camera and wifi tethering bug really got to me.
Right now, what is the most best battery life, stable and smooth 4.3 rom for s3?
no need for extra feature, just need basic feature to operate smoothly.

i had try archidroid but not smooth and contact take few second to load...
Omega rom also got battery drain issue and lagging...
There is quite many rom out there so to try all would take too much time
Any recommendation for me to try?
is wanamlite ok? i see it's based on ML2 which is not as good as ML4
(based on i read on internet)

p.s.: miss xperia e rom..great batteri life but no longer updated

4.4.2 got camera bug? temasek v37 no such bug. it was gone since v24. made a return between v34-35 i think due to face detection. but gone again after v36 after he remove face detection.
wifi tethering is working, i often use it with superbeam to send files.

archidroid is very smooth. i used it just recently. almost became my daily driver, i want to have mhl and sbeam because cny coming, but left due to bluetooth and wifi problem. when listening to bluetooth music, wifi gets disconnected.

contact and dialer takes long time to load is a touch wiz feature. all touch wiz phone also take couple of seconds to appear. u can always use dialer EX, a great looking and fast dialer app. its free and theme-able btw
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...modoohut.dialer

touch wiz rom should be quite same among all the flavors. very stable and good battery life.
dont understand why you say omega rom got battery drain and lag.

I have not try the temasek rom yet. At its page, it's said that it got camera problem so never tried it. I'm gonna test it this weekend....

archidroid tested at my phone is a bit lagging. Tested for day, transition between window is a bit lagging, lagging few second when opened whatsapps. i already do full wipe before install so not sure why....using xperia e rom is much smoother. maybe isolated case....

for omega rom, i have compared it to xperia e rom. During my daily use, discharged on morning, omega rom would get at 20-25% around 6-7 pm while xperia e rom manage to get until 10-11...this 3 hours different is important since i sometime do OT and it's hassle to charge at office

BUT just like you said, for omega, i use touch wiz which could be the reason of lagging feeling while xperia e, i use nova launcher.. could try dialer ex later for contact. For me, while very stable, stock rom has too much bloatware which has caused battery drain...

wanna ask, does samsung apps can be installed in temasek? like some of it in my phone.... if do, any guide on installing it that i can read?

anybody using archidroid by justarchi...he seems to be a nice guy lol

any known issue? didnt state/or i didnt see any on his thread in xda

what version is recommended 1.x or 2.x? thanks

have install both of version... ver 2.x is based on omni rom so for me who used to samsung rom and samsung apps, struggle a little bit with the setting and all other things. At first lagging, but then install it back with full wipe, wipe dalvik cache and wipe battery stat, it is much smoother than ver 1.x and as more battery saving than ver 1.x if always in standby mode. Reason of change to ver 1.x is the camera often FC. justarchi has post the solution in the forum but i'm just too lazy to learn the solution.

So change to ver 1.x which is based on samsung rom. Overall i am satisified with its battery time and also stable. At first, got problem with apps sometimes FC but after flash back the standalone blue theme and boffela 5.1 over the beta, no problem whatsoever and still happy using it...

Just buy power case later on if still not enough....However i started to feel that newer android is more battery friendly and custom kennel can help to further your battery usage...even for me, still using original battery, my s3 can stand a day usage compare to ice cream time.

Always like sony UI after use rom xperia e...now, since sony z2 have great hardware feature and have solved main issue with z1(screen), now really intrigued me to change

I also can last a day with using stock battery
but sony phone totally don't catch my heart, although z2 spec better than s5
if let me choose I also choose s5 over z2
personal opinion, no offence biggrin.gif

guys..

samsung come again with not enuf ram for update..

According to Samsung Poland, and confirmed by comments to Polish blogger Robert Nawrowski, the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update will not roll out in Poland because it only possesses 1GB of RAM. The Galaxy S3 in the United States comes with 2GB of RAM.

The regional arm claims that it simply cannot get the software aboard due to the system requirements which means that the former flagship could remain on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It’s not clear if this will affect all 1GB versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 but it certainly isn’t a good sign.
Backlash in regard to this decision is expected to be fierce given the prominence of the Galaxy S3 and given that Android 4.4 KitKat supports devices that utilize just 512MB of RAM. Keep in mind, while the Galaxy S3 does utilize 1GB of RAM, it also comes with an intensive piece of software in Samsung’s TouchWiz.

Quite funny since the custom rom based on kitkat can run on s3... maybe a slick way to force people to change phones to s5?
