My S3 dropped from a very high place. Screen got smashed badly. The phone can still on, calls able to come in. But screen unable to display or touch now.

Anyone knows how much is the cost of repair? Just want to see the market price and judge whether it is worth it to repair or just buy a new phone.
*
[alpha33] How much was your replacement? Saw you already replied him

QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Jan 24 2014, 03:54 PM)
Hopefully you can get a original screen with that price

6h of SOT = 69% of battery
100 % of battery = 8h42m (aprox)

With a normal battery you would only get 2.5h of SOT

Still kinda impressive.

Guys, after updating to 4.3 my S suggest is stucked running each time I boot, next to force stop only can. And for the samsung apps it will auto update sometimes but will stick. Pls help!
*
Are you rooted? If yes, remove it using TiBu.

Who uses S Suggest anyways, why did Samsung include it anyways.

for swiftkey, i just set 300ms for the number to be type... quite fast... no need 5th row
*
Swiftkey is nice and sharp, but Google Keyboard is way much less laggier when swiping.

u tried the new version of swiftkey edy?? so smooth. only takes 7 to 8 mb more than google.

I'm always up to date. On S3 its jerks every now and then, but not always.

Works fine on devices with more RAM or OS that is less bloaty.

u on stock? what i like about swiftkey is the adaptation to our style of type. and also the multi language input.
*
Currently on latest Omega TouchWiz. Since I type very accurately, I don't need them to adapt to my typing smile.gif

Strange... I couldn't find Google Keyboard in play store from my phone. But i can find it using pc  rclxub.gif

I'm using TouchPal X now. Maybe not as good as swiftkey (haven't try swiftkey), but it's free and has everything i need for now..

RAM issue really sakit hati - i wanted to give to my son by end of this year for him to play games - if i were to flash custom ROM,can it play games with custom ROM?
*
Of course it still could.

Just to add on, I personally see Android OS updates (4.1.2 > 4.4.2) as improvements rather having Samsung to push updates just to discover more and more issues, more things breaking and crashing, making battery life even worse. As Samsung isn't Google nor Apple, their updates don't always work out as good as we expect it to be.

RAM issue is hardware issue, insufficient RAM, then don't use Sammy ROMs, they are RAM hoggers, flash any CM11 ROMS and a custom kernel will make your life much easier.

The S3 is still a pretty nice phone for today's standard. It still belongs to the mid range zone.

Ok noted thanks.
Yes - it is a pretty nice phone, that's why i keep using since July 2012  smile.gif

Wow, that's pretty early. I got mine on the first weekend of June.

Rather than waiting for Samsung, Custom ROMs is the only way to extend your phone's lifespan.

Yep, they didn't say anything about KK for S3.

QUOTE(surefire v LED @ Mar 4 2014, 07:01 PM)
ok thanks - now to those who already on custom ROM kindly please PM me on how to flash the custom ROM using Odin biggrin.gif
I need to do it right the first time tongue.gif
*
Some guidelines for you to Google/research

1. Root
2. Install CWM
3. Find a suitable custom ROM
4. Flash it via CWM (you can do a backup if needed in CWM)
5. Profit

I would rather you to Google and understand them bit by bit. Because I noticed those users who got spoon fed in the forums will ask for the 2nd and 3rd time in the future.

But the only thing is missing is the CWM!
I have watch on youtube but most of it already have the CWM installed b4.
Gotta search and read slowly.

Flash CWM via ODIN, fastest and most reliable way.

4.3 + boeffla combination is the best you can get out from an S3 without resorting to CM
