Other than sucking up oxygen is the reason, another reason is, the soil might have bacterial and germs as well. Don't tell me you put a UV light upon your plant? sweat.gif

my friend, duh.. are u taking me as a fool? a idiot? the ' snake plant ' can produce oxygen at night without the sunlight , maybe your college bio class is not so up to date when you graduated.

I do Google what is Snake Plant and how its works. What I'm saying the UV light is to kill those microorganism in the soil, not for the Snake Plant. Soil could have bacteria and fungi which is bad for people with allergies.  You just tell people about the Pros of using plants indoor, but never warn people about the Cons. Nothing in this world is Perfect.

Lastly, next time before you start bashing at here do some Google search as well, this is forum where people share their thought and discussion, my respond stop here, anymore flame-bait will sent your account to holiday.

#2 Snake Plant a.k.a. Mother-In-Law’s Tongue: Of all the different oxygen producing plants, this one is unique since it converts a lot of CO2 (carbon dioxide) to O2 (oxygen) at night, making it ideal to have several in your bedroom. 6-8 waist high plants are needed per person to survive if there is no air flow (meaning you could live in a completely air sealed room if you had these plants and the Areca Palms present). The snake plant also removes formaldehyde from the air.

wall of information , but worth reading if you really need some better quality indoor air, and a better healthy enjoyable life flex.gif

edit as requested

Lastly, it is important to note that HEPA filters are designed to arrest very fine particles effectively, but they do not filter out gasses and odor molecules. Circumstances requiring filtration of volatile organic compounds , chemical vapors, cigarette, and/or pet odors call for the use of an activated carbon (charcoal) filter instead of or in addition to a HEPA filter. hepa filter

1) Please learn to edit your existing post instead of repeatedly posting back to back in a thread
2) I do not find anything offensive about Nightfelix's post. He was very neutral and was merely pointing out the possible cons of using plants. All you had to do to reply was explain how to mitigate the cons. Instead, you took offence and accused people of treating you for a fool. I have no idea how you managed to jump to that conclusion.
3) Anymore arguing here and I will personally dish out warns to all those involved. I don't care who started it.

hey bro, are you a friend of nightfelix? i think, he/she might think because of you're his/her friend, so he/she can simply threatening to ban other people, no cool man.

what you think and what i think is very subjective, and i have no intention of to explain anythings , my intention is only sharing.

i think my mistake? my only mistake is replying his/her post at the first time. i should just ignore it. laugh.gif
