How's Sharp Air Purifier performing? I'm considering between the Sharp KC-930E and Hitachi EP-DX40E. Both with humidifier function & Ionizer. Any recommendation? Budget is +/- RM1k, for room around 150-200sqft

I got my Sharp KC-840EW for RM1180, cheapest in market from a shop in SS2. Other ppl selling 1280/1250 cheapest. It works like a charm to me..... Got this instead of the cheaper KC-930E (RM780) bocz 930E don have the Deodorizing filter, but it has odor sensor, I wonder why the hell they got odor sensor but don have the deodorizing filter(carbon filter)  sweat.gif . And the KC840E have deodorizing filter but no odor sensor, wat happen to the stupid sharp design team  rclxub.gif !! Only the RM1500 KC-850 is properly designed with all feature  doh.gif

I too was deciding between a Sharp KC840E and the Hitachi EP-DX40E from Harvey Norman, but I too finally decided on Sharp. I have neighbours and friends who have used air purifiers at home and office for many years. Both smoke, keep a dog indoors and also, have the windows open exposed to KL smog/poor air. They both have used many brands, of the ones they highly recommend and say that they found highly effective are Alen, Honeywell, Sharp and Coway. However, American brands like Alen and Honeywell may not have as many service centres and replacement parts are not as easily obtainable. Coway, even though a new Chinese/Taiwanese company, has great house call servicing and very effective air purifiers; everytime I visit my friends' house, the house really smell clean and pure.

So I opted for Sharp as it has proven by many it works well with easily obtainable filters. Also, I got a good price for the Sharp KC-840E from Harvey's for rm1200. Been using it for a few days in my bedroom, and I most definitely feel the room has more moisture with my A/C on all night. My mornings don't feel so dry now smile.gif

I may decide to get the KC-850E or KC-860E for my living/dining room to rid the odors from the kitchen. Or perhaps the newly released Sharp models KC-A50 or KC-A60. Love the slightly new designs smile.gif
