I have to buy the latest Ipad Air for someone this Christmas. But on the order form it showed options for more storage.

1) If this Ipad is to be use by kids and adult (young family), what is the ideal storage?

2) Can we transfer stuff to our computer from the Ipad Air?

1. 16GB-32GB, if for kids, just get the Mini or a Lenovo or Asus Tablet

2. Yes, but very annoying. Via iTunes, or via chinese softwares like KuaiYong and 91Helper.

The Latter 2 are much.......much more efficient compared to iToons thumbup.gif

1. I'd say 32GB at least. For my use, a 64GB iPad is the minimum. Lots of movies for my kid in the iPad.

2. What stuff? Transferring from PC to iPad is usually easy, but the other way round is not so.

Even the old 30pin can transfer music and videos doh.gif Just that with Lightning, it is faster and universal, can use either sides

Correct, once connected to the PC, you can transfer supported formats of photos, music and videos via itunes to the ipad.

I've got the iPad Air 128GB LTE. Mainly for work purposes... Loads of pictures, videos & music tracks... If you are a designer or photographer, I'd recommend you taking the iPad mini Retina. The colour gamut is off (not true colours). Especially Red colour. Merry Christmas!!!

Common guys. You can transfer files in and out the iPad easily just as any other other tablets. Just the steps are different as compare to android tablets.

You can transfer your photo and video shot on the iPad out to your PC just like any pen drive.

To copy files to the iPad however requires the iTunes software which is very easy too.

For movies other than apple supported format, just download VLC player and you can transfer almost any movies format and play it on the iPad without conversion.

The last time I check, 16GB got less than 5GB free storage left (stock). So, save some money and buy at least 32GB or more.

I would go for 32g too as it's just nice for myself. My kids have a 16gb and mainly they used it for youtubing.
