Actually any SP thickness less than 0.2mm are easily damaged compared to the thicker glass sp. This is a common knowledge which the thicker, it will be harder. And most of the thinner glass sp are less than 9H but due to marketing advantage, putting a 7-8H will lose it ground to the 9H, thus most chinese manufacturer will still claim it as 9H. Some even put as explosion proof or guaranteed scratch proof, but will they give u warranty on it? i think you know better than us.
Personally, i have been using armorz since day 1 our company bought it in and it has been more than 2 months. Still scratch free and chipped free, like a brand new installed unit. I do not use any casing since then, cos wanted to see how long it can last. But still, I think i will go for a thicker glass sp for the next one.. probably in between 0.3mm or 0.4mm. With the rounded corner, it should not disturb the touch ID although will still feel the difference,
but if the benefit outweigh the risk of breaking it, i go for the thicker one.. most important is the quality ..
Agree with your statement but customers also have to agree that purchasing above 0.2MM would also lead to a higher chance of some casing thats not gonna fit.
The bumpers that I sell isn't compatible with glass above 0.2MM, or else it will lift up the screen and cause dust coming in. Same as TPU, sometimes, too thick also very hard to fit right in.
Hardshell casing wouldn't be a problem but all got disadvantages also, u drop the case crack.
But like I said, I am just a seller, I don't really know what they really doing in the QC area. Just helping to supply

Some glass might be perfect but some might not, from the aesthetic look, it sure looks nothing wrong, but nobody would know the inside of it.
