HAI THAR!!! WELKOM BECK!!!

the talents (and in some degree, skills) have changed alot

current talent system would put a class in a specific role according to specific talent tree (for paladins, it is either tank, heal or dps; mages are either a dps, dps, or dps). certain skill sets also revamped and categorised to suit each roles

take paladin for example, judgement has been greatly simplified into 3 kinds (still, i missed seal of command sooooo much), crusader strike (used to be in the talent tree) is now a base skill for paladin, and the class is left with 1 single, clickable cooldown based (devotion) aura now, unlike last time with retribution, crusader, devotion, etc

the change basically is to let player spending less time to configure talent points also, blizzie dev would have less headache to think of new skills and stuffs to fit to the tree. it also prevent players to create unkillable abomination (such as the infamus 'holyprot') to roam and troll around arenas and battlegrounds

-------------------------------------

if you are a horde supporter, and looking for guild to hang out, you can try either barthilas (escorts) or gundrak (actus reus)

Ok, my 2sen here.

I just came back to WoW after a 5 year absence. I have to say that things are different. Not good, not bad just different. I like how all the talent trees seem to be viable. No more "Manatide Shaman only!" or "Assassination rogues need not apply!".

I don't think the simplification of the talent tree made playing simple. In fact, it may have led to deeper play-styles. There seems to be more focus on your own types of rotation rather than a cookie-cutter build with cookie-cutter rotation.
