If let say charging current spec is about 1.2A, then even u use 2.5A charger, it still draw 1.2A for charging only.
For my understanding, charging time wont get faster.
But if u use 1.0A charger, then off course charging time will be slower.
Higher amp charges faster and will not damage phone. The only wear is the battery lifespan, ie. Instead of changing to new battery in 2 years time, you might need to change in 1.5 year. Just like your car tyres, the faster you drive the faster you need to change your tyres. it doesn't matter much.
