Seriously,

U hv to listen for yourself whether tis is gud.. sound is really subjective - no rite or wrong..
Price wise - there is a lot to choose from at tat  range.. IMO, I d prefer musical spkrs to purely HT ones, even thou' I will use it mainly for HT..
Infinitys hv pure American sound - brash and bright..

YMMV .. of cos..

thanks for your feedback, i have been out of this for quite some time.... so i dont know where to start..... read some review online for it... seems like reviewers says that can get better speakers for that normal retail price.... but i dont really know whats the retail price over here.... any recommendations of setup i should try out?

I just couldnt resist the sound....

excluded the AVR...

The sub if i am not mistaken was quite cheap.... i think it was around 2k - 3k only... cant really remember the individual price....

Cable tax rate is high in Malaysia. I was taxed once due to the bulk cables. 30% import duty and 10% sales tax on total amount including shipping. Effectively, it is more than 40% tax.

It is a lot higher than the 26.5% tax on electronic items.

Thanks for the info.... i think i will send it to sg instead then and collect from there.... lol

JBL's n most american spkrs tend to do tat - at first listen - Listen longer n it tends to 'tire' you.. at least for me.. My first spkr was JBL's too..

I tested infinity, missions, paradigm, jamos, tannoy, klipsch and def tech...
the best was def tech but the price was a killer.... cuz it was active bi polar speakers...

for the studio 5, i think what got me so hooked on to it was the "live" feeling.... really hard to digest the looks though...

Its kinda good that the JBL is not in the mainstream choice..... or else the price would be much higher than that....

currently i set the cascade 15 behind the sofa.... gives a good massage during action movies.... biggrin.gif
