NHT MA-1 amplifier with subwoofer vs B&W AS700 subwoofer ,,, which is better ?

asw700 sun got 500watt, quite impress.
. i guess the nht is much lower

set crossover nia.
500w will explode the room

what i mean is powerful sound can be tune by speaker crossover high. not saying nht is 500w
this will shift the focus toward midbass instead of deep bass.

thats why recommend u take branded like bower wilkin as700. got specs detail and resale value if not suitable

A HT calibrator has to personally come to your place anyways, why you worry about distance?

Why not trying DIY.

Few simple steps to start.

1. Use your avr auto calibration to run for few points as instructed in your AVR
2. Than use SPL meter or handphone app SPL to check for all speakers and subs are 75db.

After doing step 1 and 2, it should be quite decent.

Next step will need to measure like using REW software. Depend on what equipment you want to use. Many different out in the market. Free software is REW, if you have audsessey it has its own app to do it. You need a calibration mic to do this. Something like umik1 will do. There are more accurate and expensive mic too. Is fun to play with.

The important thing is the mic that comes with the AVR. The rest audessey will do the calibration.
