mainly tyre noise at 110km/h and wind noise (but reduce a lot after i removed the door visor). mine came with yokohama e70 tyres. have to look for quieter tyres after the tyres wear out

You too tested new civic?  Is Altis door solid like civic?  Also how you think NVH between them?

Hope next week I got time to test the new Altis.

After see the numerous problem of Honda Civic, 2017 Altis might be a good buy, I am a Honda owner but their quality of interior and spare parts just below par. Space definitely altis will be better if you talk about comfortable, even tho front passenger seat I can't find my comfortable spot due to the leg room, I can't put my leg comfortable due to the deaign of the seating floor and im 178cm. This year altis 2017 you can really consider , if talk about previous gen straight other car. That's my two cents. With this range altis vs mazda 3 vs honda civic

1. Toyota Altis 2017 = Family car most important is comfortable of seat especially cabin. Safety feature is a plus. Finally toyota aware of it. But everyone only blame UMW, actually Taiwan is the same, their previous model same as Malaysia too. Maybe Toyota marketing startegy?

2. Honda Civic 2016 = Cabin seat leg room quite outstanding due to the design, but the middle of floor bump almost my one hand height, and the seat cushion I found it too soft, it will comfortable for short jouney but long journey definitely I can guarantee it would found comfortable. But thumbs up with how honda utilize interior just outstanding. I love their cable management tray. Open and close door feel like I need to apply WD-40 on it.. Just terribly bad feeling.

3. Mazda 3 = The look sporty kaw kaw, cabin leg room not enough. But got load confident of skyactive engine, just that malaysia service center not as much as honda and Toyota

If I'm single I will choose btw Honda and Mazda, Family then Altis. I actually compare this 3 cars before choose Altis. The door of Altis no worry, civic and altis door was solid enough. I also reading taiwan review cause I found out taiwan reviewer good in car knowledge. Well detail explained.

Thanks for sharing bro. Wow.. Appreciate!

I hope I can maximise my giving busget. Now looking into both B and C segments hope money well spent on a ideals car.

Toyota was totally out of my list due to its features and look. Only recent trip to Melbourne saw different designs and also saw few current Altis on the road changed my mind. The new facelift was a surprise to me because I never follow its news and it look very similar to what I saw in Melbourne..  so totally unaware of this FL. It seem just right to upgrade all the essential features now and I think new face looking really nice too..Plus leather seats and leg room. Very looking forward to see the actual car. I watched taiwan reviews too.  I think you are right.

I got same feel like you on mazda regarding legroom. Civic is  oool but the seat seriously too low.  Fabric and its very ah beng (my wife's  comments lol) hold me and not quite suit my old parent to drive too.

Sylphy was in my list too but 2014 unit not dare to take the risk and can't test drive... I like its look be frank.. Back and dashboard look very classy.

Looking forward to read more new FL users coming in to share their r views..
*
I have to agree with your ah beng look on honda lol.. After i survey so much, end up i still go with Altis, bring my wife and kids along, they found Altis cabin and seat is the most comfortable and suitable for long distance travelling, and with almost flat floor design which i really into that. You might be can try hyundai or nissan range as well... I choose Toyota Altis because service center everywhere and a reliable car that cause less trouble for my families member. 2017 FL follow european design and i really like the look of it. Bro go test drive urself and share your thought as well. rclxms.gif

Finally tested the 1.8G. The interior quality to me is very classy. No photo can really tell this. The dashboard design is very smart to fllaten the top give the visual of huge car. Suspension is strady and quiet.  Rear seats both leg and head is roomy. Very responsive throttle.  Engine noise to me is low. Seat height is good.  View is good too. Also I like the ecom display. Overall I like this new face. Quiet when drive at 100km/h. I like this car.
*
Wow finally bro got time to test drive? Overall im very satisfied with this FL. Definitely suit for family ride? I travel long journey often. Noise and comfort for passenger is important. Overall good refinement car. Everything in the car doesnt feel cheap

i'm still driving the pre-facelift model. tried the facelift model and can't perceive any difference in NVH between pre-facelift and facelift. suspension wise, feels tauter but then, hard to tell whether due to it's new since my Altis after 20+k Km the suspension start to feel soft.
dashboard i still prefer the civic. but in terms of refinement, i feel the Altis is still better. rear seats for sure the Altis is more comfortable and more thigh support and you can adjust the seat upright angle. Civic rear seats are too low and less thigh support. if you've family, Altis is the better choice
*
Civic dashboard were the only thing that amaze me, but the door quality pull me very far away? At first i thought might be a unit issue.. So i go other branch to check again. Still the same, i dunno why they design like that as open and close door is the most basic thing when you ride the car? The feeling can be ruin the overall of the car. Yes i agree with Toyota refinement which is their advantage always.

today only i notice honda civic turbo spec is cheaper then altis 2.0v.

i like toyota more as currently a vios owner. thinking to upgrade .

like civic cause the look and more "advance technology" ?

guys, any opinion ?
*
Very easy call, do you care about cabin or passenger feeling especially parent feeling

Family Car and comfort = Corolla Altis
Single = Civic, and I do agree is more "advance feel"

seldom see corolla altis on road, but the cabin really big and comfortable for family, look like luxury car also, haha
*
I agree with advance look but not handsome lol, but appearance always down to own preference.

New Civic ok lar. Driving it now. I can fit 3 children car seats at the back for my 3 boys.
Suitable for family. May not suitable for old ppl though. My husband likes to drive my car too.
*
Ya civic is good car too, just target buyer will be different, as the car setting different as well.
But i will stick to the point that Corolla Altis provide better comfort compare to civic.
Civic just too low for me but this is down to personal preference , for example if you put baby car seat in the car, you will find difficulty for carrying out your baby, For elder ppl is definitely not suitable and the seat cushion just too soft for this gen 10th.

Hi all,

I am comparing the Altis and the Civic. Can anyone comment?

1. Which one has less wind noise when driving on the highway?

2. Which one has a more comfortable ride when driving at highway speeds?

3. Which one is more composed / more stable at around 150km/h? Can be stable until how many km/h?

4. Which one has a better throttle response in stop go traffic? Means like when step on the gas pedal, it moves instantly. No hesitation, no need to wait before it starts to move.

Thanks!
*
Bro I did answer all, but suggest you test drive 3 of it, go with your feeling, glenmarie for civic and mazda test drive as around the place suitable for test drive, toyota go for ss19 beside empire gallery ( cornering kaw kaw )

guys between 2.0 and 1.8 which one is better in FC ?
can share your fc here.

and any issues like rattling ? assembly gap? paint etc ? i read the c segment king club is full of issues. thinking of getting an altis then at the last minute.
*
Mine 1.8G around 13.8/14 Ron 97

So far mine with zero issues, why choose the right car, at first you must think what you need and concern the most, then only can narrow down, if you only concern about fc I would ask you go for mazda 3 then

wow good to know , 14km/l is good!! thanks for sharing
yours is zre143  ? as the latest one is zre173. good to know that the engine and cvt is really realiable
why choose the right car you ask ? its cost money man  sad.gif .
plus upgrading from a 13yo vios. so am thinking getting another vios which is quite boring plus lame as somehow it is underpower
or get a new civic or altis. but from the civic thread its riddled with issues and though those buyer/owners will defend their purchase with pitch and fork haha!

mazda 3 the driver/passenger space is not so good , need quite good rear room as will almost occasionally carry my parents and inlaws
and toyota reliablity is second to none i presume. as my experience with my vios and a friend old camry that still runs fine up to this day.
*
Then the answer is pretty simple, base on reliability and cabin comfort, Altis is the only way to go, parent or elder would definitely prefer Altis more than other C Segment car, 2017 Altis refine in many way, sound proofing and suspension especially.
