Wow nice. Mind sharing why u opt for 1.8g instead of 2.0v? I'm actually interested on the 2.0v but the sa told me it's not worth taking 2.0v as the price range is almost similar to Camry 2.0e. Test drove the 1.8g yesterday in klang n the pick up was just ok. Further more he say I won't feel more 2.0v is more powerfully than 1.8g if im driving the car alone most of the time unless its full load.
Was looking at the civic turbo earlier but I dont  quite like it as it's too low for my seating position and I already have 1 civic 8 gen at home. Suspension on the civic is also too firm for my liking

Also the sa time me Toyota Service interval is every 5k unless I upgrade the lubricant oil to fully sync? Is that true? This is rather strange as most manufacturer now is 10k svc interval
*
At first my preferences was Civic 1.8, but after test drive and research on this civic X, I feel altis will suit me more. Im looking for a decent 100K - 140k car and won't give me much headache and cheap to maintain.

Civic 1.8
Pros:
cheaper than Altis 1.8g
cool outlook

Cons:
car is lower than Altis, parent don't like it
heard quite number of owner complain about build quality

Altis 1.8G
Pros:
leather seats compare with civic 1.8
CBU!!! FROM THAI
fixed a lot of pre-facelift issue such as noise on roottop and weird sound in suspension

Cons:
power is ok, of course not as good as Civic 1.8
outlook a bit boring but after facelift, i like the front view a alot

Altis 2.0v
Pros:
better frontview LED headlamp, with new running day-light LED

Cons:
very expensive compare to Civic 1.8 and Altis 1.8G, around 18k+ extra to pay
power will not much different than altis 1.8(according to SA)
bigger sportrims, which mean tyre also more expensive

Yeah I totally agree with you. The tyre on 2.0v will caused around RM500/ donut just to change as its using Michelin PS3! Power wise 2.0V is just slightly more power than 1.8g but of coz 2.0 will give you the good feeling but seriously at 138k might as well go for camry right? Correct me if I'm wrong. hehe
On the issue regarding the rooftop noise, i felt the material on the ceiling is quite thick. when i knock the rooftop oso feel solid. Can't really comment as when i test drove the car it wasn't raining. hehe. So very difficult to comment but it looks solid to me.

not solid is during pre-facelift. Now toyota fix this in facelift version already. Worth or no worth for 2.0V is depends. Some ppl feel want buy car then go for full spec, some people see CP value

Hi all sifus here, I just bought a new toyota altis 2.0.
I notice that the reverse link mentioned at the brochure seems like not functioning.
Any ideas how to activate it? I see at you tube...the mirror really will move down when put to R, but my case it doesn't move when I put to R.
Any1 know what's the issue?
Thank you.

Just some comments since I'm having the preFL 2.0V..

Reason i went for it was the TRC n VSC n the 17" ps3 which came std. The ps3 is an excellent wet tyre. Saved me in 2 instances in heavy rain. Seriously.. tyre is one area one should not skimp on.

Now that the 1.8 has trc/vsc also i would say the 1.8 is a better deal.. unless u'd like the cosmetic stuff.

Btw i thought there is around 7-8k discount from the current list price?

Roof sound doesn't seem that bad to me. I've an accord also n would say its only a bit noisier during heavy rain. If one want to reduce the noise.. just slap on a few pieces of the stp deadening material. Big difference trust me. Sounds like they did improve that in FL.

The civic is a pretty solid car. Only 2 things i didnt like is the rear design n ride height.. too low for family. Love the front n interior.

On the service centre.. i feel uwm service is better than honda. Probably volume related seeing honda has many successful selling models here. Easier to make appointment also on short notice.

Handling wise.. altis is average. If u'd like comfort, then go for altis. My accord handles better but is stiffer. I would presume the civic handles even better since its sporty oriented. I think we can't really have it bothways.

On C vs D segment car. For non highway drive i prefer the altis.. easier to maneuver especially in narrow carparks. So if u are considering full spec C vs entry D.. do consider the ease of maneuver when its your daily driver. Big not always better =)

Power is about same for the 1.8 variants

Civic 1.8: 139hp at 6500rpm
Altis 1.8: 137hp at 6400rpm

Civic 1.8: 174 Nm at 4300rpm
Altis 1.8: 173Nm at 4000 rpm

but the Civic 1.5 Turbo more power than Altis 2.0

ps3 is ~rm450-500 depending on location. SA's about right.
Sidewall is soft, so rim protection is not so good. Some tyres have stiffer sidewall.. eg RE003s.
Yes, low profile.

Depends on service interval. If i recall correctly a FS oil+filter would cost ~rm400.

Yeah, you gotta know what you are paying for. Not exactly ketuk la.. they give u the option. Just don't blindly follow.
Engine flush >> thats good to be done once in a while. Not every oil change.
Rotate tyres >> 10k service interval is about right for a balance n rotate.
Air refresher >> ~rm50-60.. works pretty good to remove odour. Will have a slight clorox like smell for a day or 2.
