i am kinda looking for wireless card internal or external for apple laptop. it's my ex-girlfriend's laptop n she asked for help so i kinda lazy to go survey myself in lowyat n decided to just ask here.

My (or her ) budget is like rm200 n below.

Can anyone recommend any?

iBook G4 ? iBook G3 ?

For Powerbook , there is PCMCIA you could go with that , such as Linksys Series , etc

For iBooks , etc...Then you would need to buy ASUS WL-167 USB , you could get it from any apple store !

it's iBook G4. How much is the ASUS WL-167? My Ex said she found one (dunno what brand), but priced up to RM500..She's looking for a lower budget one. She's still a student and can't afford that half a thousand price hardware..its not like she's an Anak Dato' 1..

RM 350/400 , is Airport Extreme card. Well , if you use that , your iBook will be super duper happy. I have seen few people selling the card for around RM 350-400

ASUS WL-167 on the other hand supports Macs. Yes , I have tried it on the mac [I bought it for RM 195] , but the problem is , Mac detects it as a Ethernet card [Thus you can't run Kismet and all other stuff] . But then it has some disadvantages such as Kernel Panics , etc....WYPIWYG !

Go for the Airport Extreme card .... it rocks

well if it costs 300-400 then i would say i wont go for it. just using it for wireless internet in UiTM hostel only..so no need to use a too nice hardware coz UiTM wireless connection really sux. thx for the opinion though.

Then pay RM 195 for ASUS WL-167..Its the cheapest you can get...The cheapest WiFi card for the mac !

Any Apple Stores...Go there and ask them for USB WiFi for Mac...I bought mine @ Mid ValleyMegamall
