I was once being told that Fiesta has this gearbox issue (mechanic), not sure if the problem still persist for latest model.

Ain't sure if i'm right, maintenance for FORD should be higher than Jazz, mainly due to lack of demand (less parts available)

I like Jazz but it is too small but me, City is just alright. Since it is meant for your wife, I think you can consider Jazz. Or else do consider Mazda 2...

Mazda 2 skyactive technology is good in term of fuel consumption, but I have yet tested the car.

Jazz bigger space? Seriously? Never tried Jazz before but judging from the outlook, it look pack!

Mazda is famous in space limitation, if rear space is your major concern, why not consider Honda City?

Interior wise I will go for Mazda 2 for sure....no idea about their service

Fiesta's deal does sound good but I don't recommend you take it.
When you don't put any downpayment for a car then your repayment has to be more than the depreciation rate.
With Ford's generally the depreciation rate is high so this isn't a good deal.
You don't wan to end up 7 years down the road the car is breaking down often you wanna trade-in but the car is only worth 20k but you still owe the bank 35k, so that extra 15k you either need to pay cash during the settlement or find an ingenious way to put that sum into your new car loan.

Mazda2 Skyactiv is good.
A friend of mine was one of the first batch of owners, now around 11,000kms already (she is a salesgirl)
At first the mileage per tank of gas is about 350km, then rise to 500km, now quite consistently around 600-700km (diesel like)

Jazz would be the overall winner because of:
best RV among the 3
best interior setup, it doesn't have the best looking interior I think Fiesta/Mazda2 looks better, but with the UltraSeats you can still go shopping at Ikea with this little car
FC isn't as great as the Mazda2 (skyactiv is exceptional) but it is good compared to the others in the range.
Service, maintenance and spares not an issue when it comes to availability and price.


You can't really go wrong with 90's Toyota Corolla SEG and Honda Civic EG/EK, I recommend EK as it is younger.
Cars back then are quite overengineered and do last if service and maintained well.
