thanks bro  laugh.gif
I think the Latio would be a good choice for your needs.
For your budget you should be able to find one like this example it is about 5 years old and under budget. The money saved should be looked at funds you may need to use for repairs if anything happens. Usually when buying cars older than 3 years remember lower arms and absorbers are the first to go. Check thoroughly before buying if you think they should replace these things before selling to you, make sure they do it and give you a warranty and receipt.

2012 Proton Inspira 2.0 - is also a good choice as it is part by part compatible with mitsubishi lancer (usually more expensive or older in used car market so better just get inspira same thing better value) so you're not locked in to proton's spare parts price control (if that ever happens, currently not really but for preve/suprima owners they don't have a choice if it happens in the future) as you can buy mitsubishi lancer parts or any OEM/compatible parts there are lots of it since lancer is a global car there are factories making oem/compatible parts all over the world. Safety/performance is as good as a lancer, oh it has paddle shifters too. I think it is a good choice as it is much better looking and slightly more spacious than Latio.
haha....didn't know anyone else agreed with me, i just put it out there  laugh.gif
so what is your point?
no car is perfect.
depending on the marketing and engineering angle it is biased towards certain market segments eventhough it is a mass market product. even for top cars like Vios and City there is a gao between them.
Vios would be chosen by those that aim for cheaper car (j-spec), proven reliability (3 generations same engine/gearbox) and good resale value. While City is for those that value safety (one of the few in this segment VSA/traction control), new technology (every new model uses almost all new parts), etc. while knowing it is going to be more expensive.

more of paul tan?
how good can the guy be if they're not fed information from honda but have to rely on information from a salesman's facebook page?
because he is famous now i guess having your stuff in paul's website is an honour, but did he get permission to take that image from the salesman's facebook page? remember paul rage when someone linked his articles and images in lowyat?

May I know why is Nissan Latio's price for the 2nd hand is quite low compared to Vios or City? Is it because of any problem the car may have? I plan to buy but not selling it after, just that the low value makes me wonder.

No issues with Latio.
It uses a solid and reliable engine/gearbox similar to that of Livina & X-Gear.
Why it is so cheap is because:

1. Nissan cars generally don't have good resale value like Honda/Toyota but Nissan's are good cars so you can think of it as the real resale value of a car as Honda/Toyota high resale value is buffered too much by the old generation insistence on buying these two brands either new/old.

2. Although Latio is a C-segment car by size and engine displacement. The spec and accessories is similar to that of a B-segment car, just sit inside the cabin and look at it from the outside, you might mistake it for another B-segment like City/Vios and not something to compete with Civic/Altis (C-segment cars).

Thanks for the info. Does that mean Nissan Latio is the best value car for the money as a second hand car to be compared with second hand vios or city if I'm buying it without a plan to sell in in the near future?

and wow u look very knowledgeable about cars and stuff..

Is Ford Fiesta S good as a second hand car? I heard about jerking problem. Does that problem persist on every car or just some unlucky cars?

1992 ehh 1 yr younger than me hehe... the fiesta is a very nice car actually, fun to drive and actually nice and snug on the inside

its a car known to have some issues..... one cannot claim that all will face the issue, but most do have an issue with the gearbox....
well, if you do not face them it might come. if you dont ever face the issues, you will still need to change that clutch pack sooner or later cause its a wear and tear item, one way or another you will still need to pay for that clutchpack, there is no escaping paying for that clutchpack.... am speaking about the autos, no knowledge whatsoever about the manuals with the 1.4l engine

Still young and a fresh grad. So buying a second hand car will do. hahaha.

How much would it cost to replace it? How about second hand Mazda 2 Sedan? Since Fiesta has that particular problem, will Mazda 2 be a better choice?

the fiesta may give you issues, but one thing is for certain, its not a cheap car to maintain (uncle has one, he likes it but, does admit, can be expensive to run).
If you are willing to spend that much on the car, mazda 2 is a generally ok car, no major issues (afaik)
I have a feeling that you are leaning towards the sportier cars, why not a neo, interior quality is poor(no offence owners) but parts easy, maintenance easy, large support locally (means you can get some help easily too) hehehe, wait for zenix to comment haha he might have some other suggestions....

hahaha... yup.. a young teacher cannot look so oldschool maaa.. thats why i look for a sporty car...

second hand mazda 2 not really expensive and i feel like the exterior design is quite okay compared to satria neo (am i the only one who thinks mazda 2 looks okay?) tongue.gif

to be honest i am not really knowledgeable about cars. just looking for second hand non national cars which are worth to be bought... of course with sporty look.. used to consider as well, latio and swift.. haha

So anyone has experience on the previous generation of Mazda 2? The hatchback version looks nice will a little touch up. Is there any problem the consumer commonly had using the car?

Ya, i understand the situation as I also looking for 2ns hand car in JB. That is ridiculous. ranting.gif  Somemore, they are selling KL car in JB with JB price. (normally KL car selling at KL with 5-10K lower than price in JB)

Btw, what car are you looking for? we can exchange experience.
I think you misunderstand already. He is saying that the car price in KL is 5-10k cheaper than the same car selling in JB.

I have been looking 2nd hand car in JB for about 3 months (of course weekend only). And I found almost 100% that the car you saw in Mudah.com is available in the shop and I am able to see it. But the price is way too high! rclxub.gif  ranting.gif  vmad.gif

Dont know how to buy...

i was surveying nissan latio hatchback which would be around 33k-39k in kl however in jb the price listed on mudah is around 42k-48k... that makes me wonder, are those in kl a fraud? or jb people just taking advantage? hahaha very confused rn.
