please recommend me a car
new/used
budget 30-35k
fresh grad
occasionally drives to work and let family use for going to market, etc
was thinking about axia but it looks so, unreliable.. tin can pattern xD
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer - this is a good car to buy at this price range but one issue you'll have with such a low budget is you're unable to buy cars that aren't going to be 10 years old within a few years. Although this Lancer is a good and reliable car by design, you really need to choose wisely when you're in the market for one that isn't a lemon or have been though any major accidents because even if you manage to find one which isn't a lemon and accident free if not maintained properly you'll find yourself with a car with a long repair list. Parts wise they're pretty cheap as there are many common components shared with Proton and availability isn't an issue, this is the closes thing to buying a Proton Waja/Persona but isn't one. All in all a good car but keep an eye out when buying one.
2007 Toyota Altis - one issue with Toyota's is there are too many variants for one model so unless you're informed you won't know if you're being sold an E-spec but the salesman says it is a G-spec (top range). That is about it for Toyota buying worries. Other than that if it is accident free it should be in good order as Toyota parts are quite reliable and don't breakdown easily even with abuse. This would be a good choice for you, and usually you can find cars about 1 year older within your budget than Lancers.
Nissan Latio - for this one you've got some choices within this price, the sedan's are usually cheaper in the used car market and also are the only ones with the bigger 1800cc engine, while the hatchback looks nicer they only have the 1600cc engine. You can even find 2008 models within your budget. This model is locally made for part prices are low and availability is everywhere no worries for maintenance.

dear sifus, pls help and advice which best used car in this budget..
1. Brand : not proton and perodua
2. Budget : RM50k-70k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : any
5. Transmission : auto CVT - save fuel
6. NA or FI : -
7. Type : Sedan (family car)
8. Remarks : researching on nissan sylphy but not sure is correct choice or not.
sylphy would be a great choice.
actually if you can put its ugly looks aside it is the best value you can buy for a c-segement car.
good engine and gearbox, not much problems with this combination and saves fuel.
maintenance is relatively cheap and with nissan's being locally made parts isn't an issue.
you can get a pretty young one for the budget outlay-ed
2012 Nissan Sylphy - for about the same amount of money for the Inspira you get a Sylphy, top spec with Navi.

Guys, my gf wanna buy a new car around RM75,000. She has the Swift in her mind. Anythin else to recommend around that range? Preferably bigger than the Swift.
p/s NO PROTON/PERODUA.
Honda City/Honda Jazz/Toyota Vios/Nissan Almera all within range of RM75k
what do you think of those models?
