I began to have chronic hives since August 19 (Monday). It was during a period of time when I was rushing for a tight deadline. For two days prior to the onset of hives, I was really under a lot of stress and I was rushing for something and the hives suddenly appear on Aug 19. The hives only appear at night.

I am not sure whether the hives is caused by stress or caused by some vaccination I took earlier.

It is because one month earlier in July 24 (Wednesday), I took the second dose of the Hepatitis A and B vaccination. The first dose was taken in June 24.

Now, my third dose is due soon end of this month. Should I continue with the third dose? I'm worried that the hives is related to the vaccination. I'm worried the hives would worsened.

I'm not keen on taking any steroids.

hives?
chronic?

how do you know that is hives in the first place? does it appear quickly and disappear quickly leaving no mark?

I'm confident it is hives as it appears around night time (and it gets itchy like a mosquito bite) and it goes away in the afternoon.

Night time comes again with a new mark.

And it is definitely not due to mosquitoes.

I might be wrong too.

Maybe it's some severe hives. That one looks really serious

You mentioned just one spot ?

Urticaria usually appears all over the place.

It's possible it's a delayed autoimmune reaction caused by the vaccine,
especially those yeast-based ones, and finally triggered off by your stress.

If it's mild and not very itchy, you can leave it alone, since it would probably
improve or disappear with time, and you are afraid of steroids.

Otherwise, try applying a relatively safe and low-medium potency second-
generation steroid cream like mometasone (Elomet), which has little systemic
absorption, not to worry.

I have a tube of generic mometasone (Vizomet) in my office. You can
even apply it on your face or on babies with nappy rash.
Another second-generation steroid cream is fluticasone (Cutivate) by Glaxo,
but quite expensive. Doesn't seem to be any generics locally.
Safety of fluticasone propionate cream 0.05% for the treatment of severe
and extensive atopic dermatitis in children as young as 3 months.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11862174
Two other low to low-medium potency steroid creams which are also quite safe are :

Clobetasone (Eumovate, generic U-Closone, make sure you don't confuse it
with clobetasol, which is Dermovate, the strongest steroid cream).

Clobetasone was actually developed by Glaxo in the 70s, but quite ahead of its
time, in that it had very low systemic absorption, far lower than betamethasone
or triamcinolone.

Hydrocortisone aceponate (Efficort, by the French firm Galderma).
Dr Ting used to give me this for eczema near the genital area.
Take an antihistamine like:

Loratidine (Claritine, generic Ezede)
Desloratidine (Aerius)
Cetirizine (Zyrtec, many generics)
Levocetirizine (Xyzal)
Fexofenadine (Telfast)

Thanks for the articles.

I decided to take the risk and continued with the third dose this morning.

@TS how is your problem now?

I recently got hives after shower this week and it goes away the next morning. Dont know what is wrong with me aside from stress.

i found out that it's actually not due to stress

but instead due to certain food. - Food allergy

and it comes after i took some vaccine. Previously, i did not have such food allergy.

I managed it by taking some supplement to control the hives. So, it's ok now.

one sachet per day

https://rainintl.com/natalygar/product/2020000

last year i was hit with eczema

i also took one sachet per day for about four months. Need to be patient. And the eczema is gone.

But the downside is you need to take it continuously. I'm still taking it but not so frequent anymore. I am drinking it at once a week now.
