QUOTE(danmooncake @ Jan 29 2014, 12:20 AM) Yahoo Finance will show if the stock got dividends or not. I search the link: http://finance.yahoo.com/#, can't find the ticker or Div & yield.Just enter the ticker, look under Div & Yield: fields. Hope you can give link. |

QUOTE(netmask8 @ Jan 29 2014, 12:10 PM) Dividend stocks in US X Currency Exchg Rate = local currency ? US still have very strong fundamental unlike malaysia government slowly takeover all bluechip company. However, I try to diversify my portfolio with oversea super bluechip stock.Better yield ? If the stocks in US appreciates by a dollar, hence 1 dollar X currency Exchg Rate = local currency , Higher ROI in long term? Similar to stocks in US depreciates need to multiple with currency exchg too.. |

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Feb 9 2014, 12:22 PM) Really? Give some examples..why a lot of "foreign" investor stop invest in US? SOX require external auditor to evaluate internal control of every company which cost a lot of money need to pay by company. Thus, it reduce profit of company.AFAIK, SOX is applied to only public listed companies. |

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Feb 9 2014, 09:24 PM) That is actually a GOOD thing and it didn't actually stop investors. Infact, US based investors are encouraged by SOX complaint companies. Again, only Public Listed Companies! Yes for investor protection, but No for investor profit, especially for those mid-capital company. However, US standard is different to Malaysia and UK, not so sure how well the investor protection work. The only type of companies are the entirely put off by SOX are those crooks and fraudulent companies which are scare of being audited because they got something to hide. Mikehwy is correct, this came about after Enron and Worldcom case because they inflated their books with various accounting tricks. Again, it did NOT stop people from investing in US but it did slow those CROOKs and pirate ships from cheating investors money. Nowadays, there were some of the so called China based companies who got delisted by US exchanges (Nasdaq/NYSE) because they have fail in their proper accounting controls and cheated many investors money. Some of them have to restate their incomes because they used accounting tricks that does not conform to GAAP or US standards. |
