just collected my alza S yesterday
still need to drive more, seems a bit jumpy ride over 100kmph.
not sure should wait for 1k service or just go for Coil Spring Buffer?

will go and check tire pressure first during lunch time later.

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Mar 11 2016, 10:07 AM)
congrats !  Read the owners manual first...that is the best to know your alza better.

jumpy? you mean floating when over 100kph?
*
bouncy, like the suspension/absorper is not able to absorb the road condition.
it's highway, so the road is consider flat with no pot holes, but i feel like bouncy (up and down) a bit.

QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Mar 11 2016, 11:17 AM)
i think he mean floating..
*
not really floating, i try to limit 100kmph max since not yet go for 1k service.

another question.
my drive comes with Silverstone M5, some of my friends ask me to change to other tires..
i'm thinking to use it first, then change later.
please advice...

QUOTE(tankx3 @ Mar 12 2016, 08:35 AM)
I trade in my m5 tyres the moment I got my alza!
Regarding bounciness, I sat in my friend sylphy before, and I think hers were much more bouncy on the road. I'm using xm2, current mileage 52k, still have a lot thread left. (since Dec 2014) considering change maybe 70/80k mileage. Is it OK/risky?
*
i guess i would wait for the current m5 to wear out, then only go scout for new tires.
i guess it should be able to last 50k km/ 2 year.

QUOTE(cleaner @ Mar 12 2016, 10:59 AM)
Bro aba, check your tire pressure

Bro tankx, as long not reach minimum thread wear indicator and always check tyre pressure, should be ok
*
tire pressure seems correct, will try few more times
maybe will ask the perodua SC to check, wonder will i entitle for free balancing and alignment or not?

QUOTE(Kiefer @ Mar 12 2016, 11:42 AM)
Bouncy depends on which road..how bounce is it also depends on individual. Too hard not comfort like gangnam style all the way but too soft it will be like floating. It is oaky fpr alza unless the absorbers is/are out.

On tyres, just chk the wear indicators as well as check for cracks especially old aged tyres.
*
i see. thanks
would it help to get the Coil Spring Buffer?

QUOTE(singk @ Mar 14 2016, 10:57 AM)
bro, yea, m5 front wheel can last til 50k max, my front wheel already reaching the TWI.

and on the coil spring buffer, i personal opinion is, is a short moment feeling, it won't last long.
*
i see. then i will use until it's time to change for new tires icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Mar 14 2016, 11:01 AM)
my personal opinion on coil spring buffer..
what i know it can reduce tear and wear on absorber
*
i see. noted. thanks
still considering hmm.gif

QUOTE(singk @ Mar 14 2016, 05:05 PM)
bro, if you frequently travel, like doing 30k km per year or more, get xm2. this fatty boy tyre really long lasting, the tyre rubber will crack before the thread wear off if you only doing short trips. my house saga blm have this tyre fitted, and it's getting many minor cracks on the rubber but the thread still so healthy.  blink.gif
*
i guess will be 20-25k km per year.
XM2? what size should i be aiming at?
185/55 R 15? or i should get something wider?

QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Mar 14 2016, 06:09 PM)
fyi about silverstone m5..pls change ASAP
my saga flx stock tyre m3 after 20k mileage gv my CVT gearbox slip..it keep continue blink for CVT warning light until i chg to dunlop J5 problem gone..
*
curious, so the root cause is because m3 too slippery and no grip? hmm.gif
dont' quite understand... sorry, noob here icon_question.gif

For grip, wet condition need drive slow.. When u conering while u fast u almost Buang..while other won't cause like tht.. If u do high-speed emergency brake during wet conditions u might almost can't stop the car in time.. Very scary for this kind of tyre
*
wet condition - no rain in penang for some time, will try later doh.gif
fast cornering - agree with you, felt few times already. doh.gif will adding front strut bar help a bit? (to stabilize the car)
emergency brake at high speed - not yet try. but my one is the non ABS (brake assist). guess will be worst? bye.gif

oh ya...thank you all for the feedback.
appreciate the help and comments notworthy.gif

Hi all,

Alza owner here, want to seek advice from fellow Alza owners here. Anyone DIY installed brake lock before?

curious... will this void the warranty?
the salesman told me not to tamper with any wiring, else will void the warranty.
i was thinking to install the auto door lock when press brake one.. hmm.gif

As long as you don't cut the wire,  the warranty will be there. For my case, I req the foreman to use ferrules to tampering the original wire at connector side.
When anything happen for warranty , it can be remove out as per original. Anyhow, I stop sending for servicing at p2 after 10k mileage.

Your car fc very good. My fc at ard 9.7L/100km. Mostly city drive.
*
i see...
good points indeed. notworthy.gif i will try to ask around and see if my nearby car accessory shop can do that or not (without tampering the original wire)
thank you.

my drive usually involve going to work in bayan lepas from mainland.
BKE toll, Seberang Jaya (usually Radio will announce traffic congestion from Permatang Pauh to Seberang Jaya), either using First or Second bridge, then Lim Chong Eu express to factory.
dont expect them to be smooth when everyone going to work or sending their kids to school.

not sure if FC will be better if change to K&N filter? laugh.gif
better air flow during traffic jam (bumper to bumper crawl)? hmm.gif

bro you will see better fc after 10k service, i live in the island, daily driving from relau to bayan lepas, with traffic, 9.6L/100km.

K&N air filter i don't think will improve your fc since you didn't drive pedal to metal, more over perodua cars are tune towards good torque in low to mid rpm range. if you looking for good fc, try driving it at 70kph for auto, the rpm should be below 2000 as the lock up clutch is kicked in.
*
nice..thanks for sharing. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
i will try the 70kmph driving speed.

If you have discipline and patience to keep RPM around 2k and below, you can easily get 7l/100km and below.
*
interesting... but a bit hard to practice.
something for me to try flex.gif

I tried but I can't maintain it more than 2 days lol
*
i also not sure i can maintain for the whole trip. laugh.gif
need to see the road condition and traffic.

QUOTE(singk @ Apr 1 2016, 02:10 PM)
yea bro, if drive highway is near to impossible you can drive 70kph (i mean NSE), you gonna get yourself into trouble. Anyway, in penang sometimes is possible as the highway stretch over here have a speed limit of 90kph and lotsa car driving, even easier to maintain in Lim Chong Eu expressway, speed limit is 80kph and always have hantu putih taking your photos.
*
yup. you know penang traffic quite well. thumbsup.gif
a lot of places only have speed limit of 70kmph (even though this is a highway)

QUOTE(singk @ Apr 1 2016, 02:14 PM)
lol.... if you not rushing for time, is ok.... when time is running out, 3500rpm, lap ki.  brows.gif
pay attention to the rpm, when you approaching 70pkh, the rpm will slightly drop, that signalling the lock up clutch has been kick in, and your rpm will be below 2k rpm. easy on the throttle and let it cruise, don't press more else the lock up clutch will disengage and the rpm will shoot up as the E-AT thought you wanna make an overtake. is damn bored driving at this speed but seeing the AVG going down day by day is like somekinda achievement.  cool2.gif
*
i see.
will take note of this next time
still trying to get used to the car. thumbup.gif
