walaoeh, updated to 4.4.2. My battery life has worsen. When i was with 15% battery life, just catting on fb. for about 3 minutes, it straight went down to 0%. and it died on me just like that. With jelly bean, or previous version of kitkat, 15% battery life still can last me for 1 hour, if i just use it for chatting.

wtf google. Stop releasing bugged version of kitkat..

go download autorun manager, disable com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver
under google play service..should solve the problem..

when you open the autorun manager ;
click recommend advanced mode > setting > tick Show system entries and Enable system app disable
then quit setting , click the show all drop down then choose System apps

find Google Play services

the com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver is under Google Play services. Untick to disable it.

Was glad when google said nexus is still in production. Now waiting for nexus 6.

Following Project Butter(JellyBean) and Project Svelte(KitKat), Android L will introduce Project Volta.
It is aim to increase Performance by increasing faster Runtime(ART), greater Graphic, and superb Battery Life.


Nexus 5 from KitKat to Android L can straight away squeeze 90minutes of battery life.

This time Google can nail iOS down with the Project Volta, which I always complain about Android suck more battery life than iOS.

Don't fully trust everything man. Later they will say 90 min is on idle.  Because everything depends on usage, only nexus 5 users will know whether really got extra 90 main or not

Either Kernel or something wrong physically.

4.4.3 (and 4.4.4) should have better battery life since they fix a couple of wake lock issue:

i got my nexus 4 last year Jan (although n4 was launched oct/nov 2012). so, it'll be more than 18 months by the time L release next month. minus all the minor iteration, we get free upgrade from the initial 4.2 (another Jellybean) to

- 4.3 (sweeter jellybean) with Bluetooth Smart Ready, OpenGL ES 3.0, merge and re-organize 2d graphics, etc
- 4.4 (kitkat) Project Svelte, experimental ART, new launcher, etc

About the 18 months cycle support, that is just what they officially stated. "little bird" told me the real reason Nexus Galaxy not getting Kitkat is because of it OMAP SOC developed by Texas Instruments; a company that's no longer actively developing smartphone chips.

i m fully confident that L will be released for nexus 4. if goog dont release that, i m jumping ship to iOS.

my ipad 2 (2011) still got update... more than 3 years...

if my nexus 4 less than 2 years old not getting L release, it's my way to show the middle finger to Google.

ps: my ipad2 will still get the next version iOS 8 when they release in a few months later...
