Hi all Nexus 4 users, i brought my Nexus 4 on Feb 2013, 1 year warranty just passed, my power button gone crazy liao !! Erm, very not sensitive now, have to press multiple multiple times only can wake the phone.

I'm in Kampar, Perak...
I want to know is there anyone facing this same problem? and if you already fix it how u fix it? How much $$ does it COST ??

** I didn't root and flash, still the stock ROM which is updated to 4.4 KitKat
*
you can;
1. DIY change. Buy online and refer youtube guide
2. Spend RM100 and get someone to replace for you
3. Setup your rom to wake using volume. Might require rooting

So far, i Suspected is Digitizer's pasal la.. but Hair Dryer also can smile.gif [But u need the thin hair wire to separate the stupid blardy Digitizer man.. doh.gif ]

And so what i do is,

-go Amazon bought the part
[LCD+Digitizer, which damaged my wallet around MYR 370]
-got your precision screw set smile.gif
OR
PM abang ECTT's for the tools [which u may find it at garage sales la smile.gif]

n
Just remember, when u opening the back cover... use the guitar pick/deplastizer tol opened it..the step is damn  vmad.gif

till battery***
u really need care about it,
unscrew the housing den u unscrew whole the rest
den
unscrew battery-> den use guitar picks to popped that out {NVR USE SCREW to pop that battery soc coz i damaged the shit battery Sockets w the minus screw n need wait till next Mon go LG KJ repair the shiet :-x ]

and then
popped the rest ...

den replace the heck of the LCD+digitizer

n screw it all the shit n turn on n see cool2.gif

ta-da u r done your job..

but if u wanna replace your digitizer... is quite kind wasted around 45 mins..[20-30 mins to defuse the glue n take away the damaged digitizer; apply 3M digitizer panel (1 kind of the little layer stuff) + the special glue to re-glue the LCD panel, refuse again till around is fully sticked like "magnet pole" laugh.gif ]

den test n see

n another ta-da job for you smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

actually if the glass is not broken, just the digitizer is not functioning, try to search ebay for cracked screen with good digitizer. they are usually quite cheap.

but separating the digitizer and screen is not that easy. videos on that is more than 30 mins longs

Well, this is a bit off topic, anyway we're living at a different generation, and I said RM50 is expensive to me as a student,it might be a peanut, dirtcheap to other students,or even you adults,I'm just stating my opinion that you need RM50 JUST to change a button is expensive, then you came out with "Seriously student shouldn't even be using such expensive smartphone.",oh well,go tell random kids this then
*
buying the button from ebay will be just about RM20+. you can change the button easily, follow you tube video

old news lah. we can't use due to different lte band

2GB memory on new huawei honor 3c really spoil the market lah.

now only advantage of N4 is the up-to-date android experience. beside JB, 3C looks very tempting.

flashing stock is easy, either using adb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/ge...krt16o-t2527142

or using stock rom and flash using recovery

hey guys~ nice to know that your N4 is still ok...i'm really quite sad as for now it is apparent that the digitizer is getting haywired, sometimes my pointer "ghosts" around the nav bar. There were times where the nav bar went to normal. but after a few mins, it became none responsive again.

Btw guys, I have decided to order through ebay and replace it myself (I lovey my Nexy so much wub.gif ).

was thinking whether to get the digitizer WITH the IPS screen or I should just get the digitizer. Does anyone here have come across spoilt IPS screen? except for the normal light leaks and the bottom. i know that alot of owners now experienced battery failure and I'm thinking of getting battery replacement too. haha.

Anyway. If you guys wanna get the replacement for the digitizer, do let me know. I will order within these few days. happy.gif
*
the easiest is to replace digitizer+screen+frame one set. If you plan to replace the digitizer alone, you need a lot of patience (and the right tool).

Hi guys,

I posted a couple months back that my Nexus 4 got the RED LIGHT OF DEATH and since then have been trying everything I can to get it fixed. 2 weeks ago I received my replacement battery to swap out with the original hoping that it would solve my problem but still nothing. Only thing I can say is that instead of getting the usual 11 red light blinks everytime I try to revive it, I get different red blinking sequence now.
Maybe the phone is getting a little responsive??

Right now the only option that I have not tried is the first post on this thread in XDA. Mainly because I dont have experience working with exposed wires and scared I will blow up the battery, sounds very dangerous so dont wanna try it at all.

Anyone knows anywhere reliable and not too expensive to get this problem fixed?

I think your only option is to replace the mainboard. I had similar issue before, the battery just drain itself in few hours, even when turned off.

the battery still can be charge with wireless charger, no need for you to open the unit and manually charge the battery. then you can power on the unit, stick in usb cable and transfer your data to temp storage. then replace the MB with new one, put back data.

I have spare MB if you want, RM250 include labour to replace the Mainboard.

Is there any other way to verify that it is a problem with the mainboard? I dont know anyone with a wireless charger so I cant really charge it up and see if it drains out.
Right now I'm thinking it could be a problem with the charging port. Being very optimistic about this. Heh. sweat.gif
*
you need to find way to charge the unit since now it's completely drained.

then you can evaluate if the mainboard need replacement if the battery drain is too severe

There is one app that can do all of those things called TouchControl, but its been discontinued by the developer due to unknown reason. Works on any stock/custom rom for nexus 4,5 and 7
I pm u the link if u want
*
it's because many custom kernel now include this feature, hence no need for further development.
