Sorry if its inappropriate to ask something on A-Levels accounting here. http://www.cie.org.uk/images/93127-2014-syllabus.pdfAccording to page 23, part (ii) of the link, I don't understand the part of the last sentence. "[Uses NPBI – Net Profit before interest, i.e. add back interest ]" Can someone explain the bold-ed part?

Congratz to those who took their results today! Just asking, I've saw honours given out to students before (eg. World Prize Winner etc.) So, how many marks does it take to get those honours? And how many marks is counted as "high" or "good" in ACCA? As a future ACCA student, until now I only know passing mark is 50%

Hi, I've recently ran through the F3 book (both Kaplan and BPP published) in order to rectify the confusion of format of balance sheet (statement of financial position) in my A-Level book, as well as comparing to the balance sheet did during SPM time.
What I found out was all the 4 books that I've read gave different formats of balance sheet. So it is acceptable to use A-level's balance sheet format for ACCA next time? Or can I apply my SPM balance sheet format for my A-Level usage?
Furthermore, I've been having a thought to part-time/self-study my P papers after my degree. So may I ask is it possible/do I have time to do that while getting some honours?

Is there a term in Accounting that describes this situation?
"Asset A is experiencing depreciation due to wear and tear, after changing some of its worn parts, Asset A is now experiencing appreciation."

QUOTE(jack1888 @ Apr 6 2014, 09:37 PM) Thanks QUOTE(tzxsean @ Apr 6 2014, 10:29 PM) I'm thinking of something like, assuming Asset A is a machine. Asset A costs 2mil. After 5 years, Asset A undergoes evaluation to find out the value of it, and turns out to be left with 1mil. Company decides to do repairs by changing some worn parts of the machine and after 1 year, it was evaluated again and the value is now 1.8mil. Isn't it appreciation after the repairs? Or is it just less depreciation?

Hello.
Just asking what is the recommended amount of time to study for P1, P2, P3, P6 and P7 respectively per day? Cause I may have plans to take 3 papers per sitting and do something else, like a part time job for instance at the same time.

I'm sorry if this question is off topic, need clarifications on it. Depreciation charge for the reducing balance method, is it: A Fixed costs B Semi variable costs C Stepped costs D Variable costs This is the exact question that came out for the most recent CIE accounting paper, a look on the web and they gave me answers like "debatable", "pointless" . Therefore I came here
