wall plug for used with both aircon on & off when i am self serving by own.

9ft to 10 - 12 ft still quite normal height from floor to ceiling.

means it act as aircon point? hmm.gif

QUOTE(platinum_12 @ Feb 26 2014, 10:17 PM)
Then just hide it using cornice. Or just conceal it.
*
both work well nod.gif
but i guess conceal would be easier hmm.gif
cut the wall, slot the pipes in, then patch it back, all done in one go

will take the cornice idea into consideration nod.gif

Cornice is the fastest and the cleanest way to do it. But if you like your current ceiling design, just conceal it. The only problems are noise and dusty and it need repainting job.

What safety from the switch and the wall plug? There is no auto trip or whatever disconnect when problem.

It given more problem with additional this parts.

Anywhere I can unplug is out.
For example like clean out fan blower or simple change whole fan blower or removed and wash.

Anything is depend your Aircon installer how to fixed for you.

Concealed wall should come with wall plug for power supply 13A I guess.

Nothing to decide new aircond dunno where to fixed, usually Aircon guy would prefer tap from nearest power point and put it on & off switch like water heater only.

Usually it power point is not tap from nearest bedroom wall socket.
To be pulling and tap from the main switch board.

You plug it out is the same as switching off on the main switch. When you remove/wash you take out the powercables? You wnot because your installer already secure the power cables.

Lol as long you can comments here. Anywhere that power point for aircond plug is not done by me.

That's follow my from new house when I bough it and ask aircond contractor to done wall concealed.

For me I like unplug it out. But I'm still can done all my thing without to switch off at MCB to be effected others sharing same line.

Safety wise direct unplug from power point may more faster or safety like AC switch, Once the AC switch break down or burning was effected the wall color paint else.
Also AC switch look more nice to match on others switch.

I'm not saying your must be follow my traditional type...lol

From within 8-9 yrs in my living hall has been changed from Fujitsu to panasonic non inverter and the last upgraded into ME inverter.
So for me is faster way to removed whole fan blower.

Used AC switch may nice but wanna remove power wire from fan blower got 2 option.

1. To be switch off MCB and discharged wire from fan blower direct.
2. Switch off on AC switch only and remove cable casing and remove out AC switch 2 screw for discharge out main wire from fan blower.

That is what I guess.

Mind to share what is the problem? i don't see any problem using this setup other than costing a little bit more. The advantage of putting a wall plug, is that, you can add a power surge protector to it and there was a fuse in the plug. Other than that, it just for convenience.

This is true though, olden people always like this. I remember when last time i want to install a ceiling fans at my parents house. I said to my mom, just switch off the power and it will be save enough, i will be fine. But without any notice, my father just stand up and he switch off the DB! and said to me, "what so difficult?". tongue.gif

Wall socket and plug or the switch is a bottleneck for any electrical thing. Specially high current applicance. But it is no choice if you need to ON/OFF the applicance or taken out for convenience.

But given a choice like a aircon that you don't need to takeout and switch ON/OFF mainly, you don't need a wall switch or socket. The aircon already built in a starter and safety device. Plus your MCB and rccb to protect. You just switch off the MCB and rccb when service.

An applicance running high current will running hot at the switch and plug. The loose contact, bottleneck contact, corrosion and carbon at contact is a few cause.

When the guy come and install your aircon, you either point to where you want to install. Or ask for an opinion from the guy. The next is, you want to pay extra to conceal the wire or save cost just hang the wire out. This is normal scenario.

Here what happen when wire corroded --> https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2954371/+160?hl=panasonic water heater

How do you add a surge protector on your wall plug? Ain't it getting ugly with all this device and wire on your wall? Have you seen this red/green button box magnetic starter back 80's or 90's on the wall for an old aircon? It look ugly and like a factory. The new aircon is already built in with such device. That is why you don't see installer install such thing anymore.

I have been using aircon for 16yrs. I just use the remote to ON/OFF. OFF the MCB and rccb when service. If given a switch at the wall, I don't no what I going to use for it.
