Why do compare so much?

York = noisy n not suitable for residential
Daikin like BMW spare parts an expansive
Mitsubishi Electric is the best for easy clean access n also faster cooling

Also Daikin & York is belong one company and share parts, but their design not allow for remove the drain pan, if the blower at drain outlet has been stuck or dripping water.

How to do? Must be remove out the gas cooper pipe for whole blower take out and remove the fan coil fins out, just able to access to empty the dirty jelly dust on the drain pan.

Unlike ME or Panasonic can be easy way to remove out for service by owner n without Aircon man needed
*
Thanks for sharing about the drain pan issue re:Daikin & York. Ultimately maintainence should be easy.

Another plus on the Melco MSY series inverters 1.0 & 1.5HP, it has the narrowest width compared to Daikin and others. For locating compressors in tight space this is a plus.

One interesting AC compressor tidbit: In HK, a lot of buildings rely on wall mounted non-split AC. As the trend gives way to split ACs there's an interesting requirement for their market where they re-use the old AC ledge. The connections to the flarings are behind and not on the side. See link here.

You can refer to this chart to plan the a/c required. I'm using Mitsubishi Mr. Slim with isensor 1.5HP, non-inverter, the BTU is about 12000 IIRC.

This web seem like give different style of calculation.
Most site that I found is using cubic feet to determne the BTU/hr.

If compare with this one, one may gt different BTU;

Which one is correct?

Can't believe lah... If follow the table, my living hall really can fit with 1.5hp and feel like cold as winter.

Usually for most 3x3m room size was go for 1hp.
4x5 or 3x6m for 1.5hp and 6x6m for 1.8hp and 4x8m or 5x8m go with 2.5hp you never get wrong of cooling space

Lol... As I said, my common area 4.3m x 9.3m and 1.5HP sufficient for me. But then I don't need my house to be 16 deg all the time, I usually set it to 24 deg only.

Ground floor except the Living hall can be consider of ceiling type or wall mounted of 2.5hp and the rest on 1hp only.

For 2nd floor bedroom can install for 1.0hp x3 bedroom and family hall need 1hp and excepted room A for 1.5hp only

thanks for the reply.

for ground floor would it be suficient if i only install one 2.5HP aircon to cover both living hall and dinning hall?

izit advisable to install cassette type aircon in living hall (plaster ceiling). worry about servicing later..

thanks

Wall mounted more trouble free for maintenance service, install location near to your sofa shot till dinner area would be no problem for 2.5hp at single unit laugh.gif

What is your model? Triangle design type? I'm contemplating to vet Samsung. Perhaps you could share some input.

EER higher on samsung but samsung not really professional or specialist in air conditional line.

Parts or after service may different case.
Just look at their design for triangle design, if you plan for used shorter than 10 yrs maybe that is worth for paying leases TNB bill.

in the 1st or 2nd models launched in malaysia from their casing plastic easily become like powder n really can crack the cover, but that those model has been passed over 10 yrs already & maybe the newer design they has improved a lot... TS why not to try it out..

Thanks

Thanks so much for the reply. What about Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-FH25VE? I can see that it is the most energy efficient model (for 1HP) in Mitsubishi Malaysia website, sloted under Super Deluxe. The EER 17.57 which is almost unheard of. Hope you guys can give some comments on this.

If you can afford that price for me is worth it... High COP or EER = pay lesses of monthly bill and also come with bigger outdoor unit size to compare as MSY-GJ10VA model.

Last 3 months ago, my common room just installed that older MSY-GE10VA model for last unit only, if i found it had launched i should instead of MSZ-FH25VE for my common room.

Mitsubishi has new inverter 1.0 and 1.5HP. MSZ-FH25/35 here. I called Melco and was told it cost almost 4K.  blink.gif The COP and input W is impressive though bringing down the annual consumption to 940kWh and 1480kWh which is leagues better than what's in the market.

Thanks for the info.

But woow! RM 4K for a 1HP (rating: 940 KWh) aircond is just too expensive for me. It seems that RM 1.5K Samsung (rating: 1350 KWh) is much more value for money. After all, I'm going to get a new one after 5 years (at most) thus the RM 4K unit wouldn't be able to save me that much.

Wonder what is the price (some say its RM 4K) because I can't seem to find it on display anywhere in Klang Valley. My budget for the 1 HP aircond is RM 2K top and energy efficient is one of the most important factor for me.

The MSZ is also found overseas. Google the model and it's also a heating and cooling.

In Thailand, Saijo Denki (literally Best Electrical or Best Denki if you will) produce a 1 HP at 17.57 EER. It's listed in Singapore's NEA Database of Registered Goods has the 1HP rated at 5.72 and 5.47 for full load and part load. The annual consumption is 987kWH.
