marketing to me is a very versatile field. you learn about PR, retailing, management, finance, entrepreneurship, organizing, etc.
however, when you go into marketing, you can't think of making big bucks. MArketing people don't earn alot. or at least they take quite a long time to start earning alot. But the experience you get and the skills you develop is definitely valuable. It basically prepares you to take on the business world at a larger scale.
I may not be a marketing student now but being an entrepreneur and working in sales definitely brushes up my marketing skills. I train myself to speak, persuade and sell. Also, to follow up so that I keep my customers loyal
