sifu, how to get panning shots then? with slow shutter speed + keep the cars inside the frame?.. paiseh newbie here  laugh.gif

Use a lower shutter .e.g between 1/60 to 1/250 etc depending on where u pan (straight way or turning). Focus lock the area where u wan to take the pix. Then when the car coming, just follow the car via the viewfinder till the spot u have ur focus lock at and press ur shutter. biggrin.gif

Me newbie too. haha

Yea pratical more important. Panning could be done basically on anything that is moving... running, walking, cycling, vehicle on highway etc...

Add on to your suggestion ... i think monopod would be useful for stability! Cheers ...

I think Vyruz gave the brief info on panning shot. Just try to shoot more. You are not limited to shoot those cars in the circuit. The cars on highway also can get panning shot well. biggrin.gif

Abit of advice is, try different shutter speeds on panning shot. Then you can check the RIMs and background for the panning effect. wink.gif

Preview a few shots of urs using different shutter speed will definately help. biggrin.gif
