the solution is that you add in a unit to your system now in between your HU and amps

HU >DSP of your choice > Amps > drivers

nowadays for new DSP, DSP controllers are optional, a lot are incorporating with a laptop via USB cable for tuning purposes...

and some new one has amps built in, so you could use them without amps. Some only though...

surveyed around my area here, the price 3-4k, more than my whole setup already guess im not into it yet.

Something's bothering me though.. Currently I'm running on Pioneer 8300UB. Adams Mid and Adams Tweeter (SQ type) with RDS 4 channel powering them. I would like to get a better SQ.. What should i upgrade/change? Would like to have staging effect and TA. Shop asked me to get a Sound Magus SC90.2.. Which have built in DSP. I just got the mid and tweeter.. So im confused weather to change AMP or to get a external DSP.

If you really want to play TA, and your HU is old enough, then P80PRS might worth considering.

Sound Magus is an option because of the DSP and nothing else, and I think it has a very limited band to play with only.

double din HU with TA can not outperform single din HU with TA?

Thanks for the opinion. But i just got the HU like half year ago.. emmm... So if i get P80, and sell my current HU, will it sound better than adding another DSP? What's your suggestion for a person which a budget of 1.5k +- ? I might slowly upgrade in future though..

For modern cars that equipped with more featured headunit, DSP is the only way to make your sound performance boosted at the lowest cost.....Changing headunit will most probably judge by features....Sound quality of a multimedia hu? ya there is but remember you are paying the price for the features...Not only the sound.....

IF your car is single din / easily convert single din -> hu with built in proc

If your car is already multimedia unit -> get a DSP

If your car already got single din and satisfied with the features -> get a DSP

If your car is equipped with any player that you are not satisfied with the feature -> get a DSP, then later on buy a hu that has all the feature u need and most importantly is the reliability......if it's not reliable, you might change hu soon and be prepare to pay money for a good tuning....


Tuning is the worst part in DSP, you can get all the h/w ready but without a good tune, you are just buying a DSLR but only using point and shoot..Pictures get better but not to the max part...

1. There are a lot of DSP out there, mainly the tuning features that differentiate them.
2. Do you think you will want to have features that can be offered by 2-DIN? such as watching DVD etc? If yes and that would be your future plan, then get a good DSP.

3. With your budget now and still insist on having TA, then I guess P80 is the best option.

If I were to start from 0, I will go for DSP then get a feature rich 2-DIN. This way I can have the best of both world.

If there is hesitation, then save more for a good DSP. Definitely worth it.

Hi brother ,get a dsp as powerful as yu can(features ), or get a Second hand one, cause dsp unit normally once is set and leave it there ,
Not at all like head unit,in and out ,all the time.The chances damage it is rare.
So it is o k to get used dsp. How is that sound to you?

I don't need those conpetition grade kind.. I dint think im willing to pay more than 2k for a DSP either. . And 1 more thing, if I get a DSP, what about b6 4 channel amp? FYI, the 4 channel is not SQ amp.. can it "match" with a DSP?

saw the audison bit one and the price is WOW. but audison bit 10 i saw someone selling rm16xx for new set. not sure about the features.
some alpine also need to buy the controller separately and after add on price also above 2k.

get ready for 2k++ above for a decent 1....while decent do not meant best
