Guys, I am looking at Ducky Shine 3 (Brown) now but I am wondering if it is worth it to just pay more for the Roccat MK Ryos Pro or Razer Black Widow Ultimate Stealth instead?

I did google and read/watch up bunch of stuff but I kinda hope to see what's the general LYN folks opinion before I go get one this Thursday. Appreciate the comments, thanks!

Why pay more for less?
*
I was bamboozled by the shiny lights and pricey brand names lol - thus I came here to be saved.

Do google give good review on Roccat/Reicat biggrin.gif  and Razer?
Curious to know.

Saw a few decent review articles on both but nothing much from real life users (e.g. forumers etc). I don't want to just dump money and regret it for being attracted to brand names only.

There's still some shop offer promo price of RM399  for shine3, feiton, heavyarm or other dealers that carry ducky brand iinm.

Thanks for the info bro, but I am stuck in kiasuland, not much choices here. SGD185 from the brochure that I am looking at. Oh well, considered that I paid for the delivery charges.

Merry Christmas! biggrin.gif

Just bought myself a DS3 (brown switch) yesterday and I am loving it - I do have one problem though, the inability to understand what some of the keyboard icons stand for. I was playing CS:GO when my Tab key stuck and I couldn't get out of the score board view.

I just realized that it was actually caused by DS3 (either repeat rate or something) and I will try this again today but just wondering if there's a guide to understand the keyboard aside from the manual guide (which seems rather lacking).

Which of the icons you don't understand? the 4 top right media keys?
Or dip switches at the back of the keyboard?  biggrin.gif

QUOTE(justnits @ Dec 27 2013, 02:47 PM)
probably u tertekan the mode to set led profile.
*

I just read this one up and planning to try this out at home tonight, I am wondering if the F1-F4 are repeat rate keys and F5-F8 are repeat delay keys?

*Pretty sure it is not the set led profile cause I didn't press FUNC key or anything near to F10

QUOTE
"Lighting aside, the Shine 3 also allows you to adjust repeat rate and repeat delay time, which relate to what happens when you hold down a key to get repeated keypresses, through shortcut keys on the keyboard itself. Note that all major operating systems let you adjust these settings, so only those who need to change them frequently will find this useful."

Problem solved, finally figured out why the keyboard "miss behaved", the stock settings were flawed and since I finally figured out that this feature exists, I was able to reset it to a normal speed, which fixes this "problem".
So if anyone else with a Ducky Shine 3 experiences this problem, hopefully this helps them.

Not interesting when I was in a competitive CS game though, stuck with scoreboard in my face and I can't move. In the end, got kicked out and banned for 30minutes sweat.gif

Anyone have such issue before, or can share if there's anything else that I can read up on DS3? Tried searching the Net, nothing much - not even the main TW site. I haven't tried the DIP but I did found the information on what each switch does so that is fine for now.

Hmm, following this thread can be detrimental to my wallet – now I am tempted to buy new key caps/sets for my Ducky. You guys buy mainly from taobao? I saw the local shops in Sim Lim (SG) sells key caps, not entirely cheap though.

Sometimes, those retailers also get from taobao and resale for profit, might as well ownself get...

Other wise, there are still geekhack group buy, keycapsdirect and originative for more quality and exclusive keycaps.
*
Yup, realized that the first page has a list too, my mistake of not checking lol.

Hahaha, I don't know where to bring him to try Das out. Don't see any shops in SG selling it and the dev haven't used Ducky before, gonna poison convince her once she's back from holidays. The backlit and typing feeling is yummmy.

Guys, cause CES is coming, should we wait for any new keyboards coming out, or just ones that are available now?
*
I was thinking of either waiting or a Roccat Ryos MK, untill I go try out the Ducky - and with a little more urging from the folks here, I am now a proud Ducky owner biggrin.gif

Anyway guys, has anyone followed CES 2014 from the beginning? If yes, do expect the Novatouch from CM - Topre switch with cherry stem lol.

Didn't manage to catch that one, only saw the Corsair Cherry MX RBG, it looks really fancy but so far no pricing or when will it be out (rumored to be late this year).

can expect itik berhelmet soon lol

I like the white KB and the idea of having black (or blue/red) LED lighting for it, but not sure that it would match my PC colors (mostly black). Additionally just gotten DS3 only, I will be murdered by my wife if I consider getting yet another new mech-KB sweat.gif

I wont customize it. I just wanna buy a mechanical keyboard for my gaming session. When you said CM, which model is good? Quickfire XT or Quickfire XT Stealth?
*
Was considering BlackWidow and Ryos MK Pro for gaming also, but ended up getting Ducky Shine 3 instead (standard key layout with sufficient functions for me to work with). It is working marvelously for me so far. No regrets biggrin.gif However note though, if you are looking for those macro keys then you might not like DS3 as it doesn't have any.
