I've tried taking out and cleaning the switch with no success, any tips? Also is it possible to sell some parts of this keyboard? Like keycap or the "still okay" blue switches? Thanks in advance

Dunno if this the correct place to ask, but my 1.5 years Xarmor mec keyboard starting to have chattering / repeated characters in C V B W and backspace and yeah, it's very annoying, just writing this alone needs alot of corrections.

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Dec 21 2013, 03:09 PM) If you don't press that 4 keys then will not automatically repeat, right? Yea bro, only when press, it become something like this when i type:Only when press? Maybe same like what you think, over the years the keys get stuck with dirty. Wait some sifu from this forum come and verify your case. p/s: I'm care-le-fare in this thread, not sifu.. You may call me "keh leh feh" too for better pronounciation. the quicck bbrowwwn fox jumps over the lazy dog The "W" is especially nice, can triple or even quad when "lucky" |

QUOTE(justnits @ Dec 21 2013, 05:39 PM) hmm...the only time i experience automatic double tapping is with my keycool 87. I'm currently staying in China but will be back before CNY, I can get some duckies zero for 250 or 200 rm (without backlight), is worth it? i replaced the switch altogether and it doesn't happen to me anymore. but sometimes there's double tapping happening on my E and H key if i recall correctly. i suspect it could be poor switch build. if it's possible, try swapping the C V B W switch with other rarely use keys (Insert, Scroll Lock, Print Screen, Pause, etc...) that would mean having to open up the case and desolder the switches and soldering it back. i assume it's out of warranty. if u're staying in kl, some abangs here can probably help u do it with a small fee Or should I buy 5 rm cheapass china membrane keyboard and fix my keyboard in KL? QUOTE(Human10 @ Dec 21 2013, 07:21 PM) You don't earn much from switches harvesting. Do you know where or how much it will cost to fix like 6-7 broken switches?Locally, only few ppl actually DIY and utilize switches, and they (including me) already having quite lots of spare switches yet to be used, LOL. Again, rather than dumb the whole keyboard, why don't you fix those few failing switches? Easier and cheaper. |

QUOTE(Human10 @ Dec 21 2013, 08:21 PM) Not sure, but may be you can prepare your own switches (can buy from taobao) and later go KL find ppl to fix for you? Yea, I can get some switches for cheap here, by chinaboard do you mean something like This 50 rm keyboard? Also your term is too technical for newbie like me BTW, since you are in China, there are a lot other interesting choices of chinaboards. Also, since you are using i-One board, you may be interested to get a set of KBC doubleshot PBT RGB modifiers. |

Alright, looks like I've fixed my keyboard, no longer stupid chattering.
Press inside the switch with a toothpick and blow some compressed air works for me. Dunno if it will come back later though... |

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Dec 30 2013, 02:09 AM) use for 1 day maybe. Sorry to butt in, but may I ask how much you sold the extra keycap? I'm planning to sell mine as well last time grabbed this because: 1) Damn cheap with extra keycaps set which other people grabbed from me, so the cost of acquisition is cheap. 2) Because so just buy for fun 3) LED mods 4) Suitable for typical office environment, no fancy fancy. |
