not sure if that will be eligible for a replacement through warranty.
looks like coating came off or wasn't coated properly during production.
but if possible, try asking first. u never know what is the outcome. u got nothing to lose anyway unless u have to send in your keyboard, which is very unlikely.

Ok thanks bro. will try asking the shop 1st. thumbup.gif

now im confused with the warranty terms. with C-Zone, they say it is 1 year, but Corsair guaranteed it for 2 years (even the with the warranty booklet).

EDIT : not sure if C-Zone only help me to warrant it for 1 year FOC, and the following year will have charges.

but from the box it clearly wrote 2 years. rclxub.gif
will confirm with C-Zone about it.

Almost all shops or retailer in LYP or their branches will have such practice. The common mutual or written agreement would be " If in 1 year the product is defective you may come back to our shop and send the product to us for warranty. If more than 1 year, lets say 1 year 1 day; a small fee (or big fee) will be charged to the customer for warranty purpose. The reason behind this last time is because of the price. As we all know, almost allshops in LYP or their outside branches usually don't adhere to the SRP, which in return makes for a smaller profit. Although its still a profit, but as low as RM 1 profit from selling rams is too small for them to 'service' you lifetime...So when don't want to follow SRP, means smaller profit, which makes for so-so service lorrr...Pay SRP, if the warranty 2 or 3 years, just send back to shop that you bought it from and usually they will not charge you for warranty. There is a good margin for computer item but sadly here in Malaysia, the market is full of sellers not end user. So in the end, every shop has the same product, every shop wants to clear out before end of the month, every shop starts to practice 'kill price' and in the end, the shop that sells follow SRP is being looked at as if they are a 'con shop' shocking.gif

Then the disease spread even worse when it comes to online...The instruction was clear from the distro in the early days, sell at SRP and provide free shipping. Distro gave a bit, they throw everything out, earning RM5 from selling a mechanical keyboard or gaming brand laser mice or whatever items they manage to get from distro or their friends at LYP for nearly cost to cost. In the end, brands keep changing distro because sellers are not doing well and brand image dropped...or even worse no local distro cry.gif

Ok enough of the "why only 1 year as opposed to whatever the box has printed warranty period"

So now here is the scenario for returning the defective product;

1)Transport fee to lowyat + parking(if necessary) + toll (if necessary) + warranty fee

or, if you don't want to kena fee, drop your product to the respective distro or supplier here in Malaysia. Big brands has service centers which is easier for us since day 1 if have any problems. Like small brands, we need to send the item back to the distro for them to check, repair here if applicable or if not, send back to China or Taiwan or which ever place they need to send.

Please note! Suppliers aren't gonna send you item alone...Usually the shipment is like 1 month per claim, meaning that if you send on the 15th of the month and they ship back to manufacturer on the 30th, you keyboard (for example) will be in Malaysia for troubleshooting or packing until the 30th of the same month. The reason for this is to bulk all defective products (not only from one retailer but from all) that needs to be send back to the factory or collection centres overseas.

Big brands like Asus has like two shipment per month and have 3 or up to 7 boxes (sometimes) filled with defective products that need to be returned to the factory or manufacturer. Smaller brands will have maybe have to wait 1 month each for every shipment back to the factory. So now you know why it takes so long to get items back. This doesn't include rejection of warranty lagi, no stock for replacement product lagi and so on...

Some smaller distro will replace with a new unit from the box and in return when the manufacturer ships them a replacement, they will counter-stock the replacement and sells them back.

Hard drive manufacturers like seagate, allow you to claim directly to them if you send the defective HDD to Singapore.

The problem is the retail price sometimes really seem to be CON price...

Already that MY's salary and pay is below average, the situation is worsen with the insane conversion rate by some brands. When the USD exchange rate is 3.2++, the local price will be at least using exchange rate of 4.0 (and f**k SONY MY for the PS4 price). Goods from China is even more worse. Often, the items will cost at least 2 times compared to the price in taobao (sometimes even 4 times), which hadn't consider the even lower price for buying in bulk yet... The Armageddon brand is a serious f**k up, by rebranding a thing that cost xxRMB and price it RMxx here...

I understand that the market is smaller in MY, but even Apple can prevent price discriminate in a more sensible way, I believe a lot other products/brands can actually do so too.
