The Cosmos SE is part of Cooler Master's Cosmos series, of which the 'SE' seems to be referring to "Smaller Edition" as this unit is the smallest among the SE variants.

The IO ports are placed on the top of the casing, a convenient layout but definitely not good in our dust friendly environment. Top facing sockets tend to accumulate dust. sad.gif The Power button and the reset / fan control buttons are on both sides of the top and it comes with blue LED around.

The top 5.25" bays come with easy to remove front bezel.

The Cosmos SE comes with a decently spacious interior.

While the casing has ample space for drives, the center beam that holds the drive bay panels

See these panels? They have to be removed if one were to place a longer graphic card into the system, for example the Sapphire HD 7970 Vapor-X 3GB GDDR5

At the back, the casing is ready for water cooling tubes.

At the lower part of the back is the PSU bay that protrudes a little, it's a little tight and fitting a PSU into it could take more effort than usual.

Filters are also found at the bottom of the casing, it helps reduce dust intake during negative airflow.

At the front, 2 blue LED fans pre-installed. I attempted to replace the fans with my JetFlo units and what I realized was that the default fans come with some padding that makes them fit perfectly to the mounting points but this is not the case with the JetFlo. Fortunately I have paddings that so happen to be part of their N200's bundle. Cooler Master should include those paddings for people who intend to change the fans.

The Cosmos SE comes with ample space for cable management. Here I moved as many cables as I could to the back and have very little trouble closing the side panel. The side panel isn't flat, and the bulge on the side panel allows more room to cater thick cables or those with larger connectors (eg 4 pin Molex)

The Verdict
The Cosmos SE is solid in build and retails at around RM 500. What you need to take note is that there are 2 variants of this casing, one is with a windowed side panel and another is with mesh side panel.

Another thing to note is that the buttons on top are blue in color when powered on, so going any other color in terms of case modification could just end up looking ugly.

nice review!

its a little bit tight.. need a minor arrangement to the front intake fans.. because of the blocking front bezel.. sad.gif
both pre-installed LED fans on the front really need to be mounted a bit lower from its original location...
however this arrangement will cause one of the fan can only be screwed on the top side and the bottom side of the fan will be left hanging.. sad.gif
on the bright side, it will gives a direct air flow to the 2xHDD trays located at the bottom.. and a better air flow to the whole case.. biggrin.gif
in my own opinion, considering all the other features the case have, this is definitely the best case i ever used! thumbup.gif
here what its looks like with fully installed parts.. icon_rolleyes.gif
