for 1. and 2. i think that's normal. nothings to worry.
about 2. because while you are not turning on the NAD CDP. the ground channel is not send back to the CDP and earth. so it will hum. after u turn it on, the ground is active. hence the hum goes. it's normal IMHO.
3, weired that the canare F-10 comes with standard size. it's very loosely? it will not be extremely tight like some RCA (neutrik pro-fi). because it's nickle plated. and it's very flat in the ground connection part.
but if it is too loose to hang itself at ur player,. try to use ur finger gentlely push the plug head so that it's slightly tighter.

*
Heh Bro, welcome back.

I tried using my fingers to tighten them but they wont budge. Next i tried using a small tie wrap aound them i think it did help a bit but once i take the tie warp out it goes back to it original form. So i leave the tie warp on. Maybe i feel they are loose due to the fact as you explained above. But comparing between the 8 i have, some like 2-3 are very loose. Have to think of something...BTW auditioning your cable against Audio Quest Gsnake now...the winner is still looking like PcWork rclxms.gif

DIY cable always lose a lot of low level detail, time incorrect, high noise due to bad connection.

relax. he doesn't really want to discuss about my cable. he just hate me from saying his selling B&W CDM1 speaker cost around RM 3K.
he hope i say it worth RM 5K. so he strat to post somethings here. and he can judge the cable sound by just looking at it's picture.
i have numberos of customer comparing my cabler with aftermarket cable.
but he could just ignore what gsdev just said. and saying lost a lot of detail.
which might make me think that his level of cable maybe is transparent reference.
however, even cable like Cardas / Zu / Transparent also terminated by hand in those factory. it's just DIY'ed by certified person by the factory. so far, i never see some high end cable were made by machine. =)
including goldmund.

I am not trying to make anybody happy by saying that the PcWork cables rock. I am seriously comparing his cable to the ones i have (or borrowed). This is to justify my investments tongue.gif . The 0.5m jumper from Pc Work was worth evey cent as it really opened up the sound stage. The RCA-RCA cable i compared with, Monster standard interlink balanced 200 (this is old), Wire world Terra , Audio Quest Gsnake also some siver interconnects from perfect hifi (this also kinda old). What plays best to my ears is still PcWork's cable.

I recall one forumer also compared his cable with the straight wire sonata cable and PcWork's was better. So i dont think i am the only one making these remarks. If so who cares, what works best for my ears matters most to me cool.gif whistling.gif

arrsoo. it's a 0,5 meter RCA-RCA cable
use to connect the CDP-> amp
but it's very short, so ppl usually call it jumper. instead of RCA-RCA cable.

I think you should drool since this cable is like very special order only from PcWork 'Limited Edition PcWork Super Extreme". Any ways i use that for connecting my pre-amp to the amp. It replaced the stock metal jumper on my NAD amp. Tried other branded RCA-RCA cables, still like the special jumper from PcWork.

well it is special because i won't sell it again.

so far, in this world, only me and gsdev have it. gsdev have it because i do it as appologize for him that i delayed his order for a really long time.
to make that pair of 0.5M RCA cable. spend me more than 4 hours..... look at the braid, it's 8 cable braid.. nod.gif flex.gif flex.gif tongue.gif
