Let's say I already have tint, and I bought some security film 4mil from USA.
Is it possible to combine? Anyone did that before? will it hinder the windows

QUOTE(Lord Gitsy @ Apr 29 2014, 12:28 AM) No, you can not combine the film in this way, you will lose the safety function. The safety film is come with special adhesive to strong hold on the glass. The first layer must be safety film. oh man, what a waste then..Senario 1 : Glass | (1) Solar Film | (2) Safety Film = No safety function Senario 2 : Glass | (1) Safety Film | (2) Solar Film = Got safety function. By the way, safety film is not suitable to tint for front and rear windscreen. if you think your existing film is good, what you need to do is just change the all side windows to safety film, remain the front and rear windscreen film. next question, i think my existing tint is dark, around VLT : 55%. i don't know if it's me or what.. i feel the weather is killing me lately.. my tint is just less than a year old.. i'm thinking of overlaying them with another, higher protection etc. possible? |
