Hi, I was visited Raytech yesterday and I noticed there is a brochure with prices for each individual Raytech tint for standard/large etc. Where can I get this information online as I was not given that brochure.

Hi bro, you can't get the price online. Brochure price is standard in all Raytech outlet.

Noted, initially was informed the Centurion RX-4mil package with a 95% IRR for windscreen. After some negotiation was given free upgrade to a 97% which they used this term "Deluxe", but was told its another name for the Ultra 70. Was puzzled as I was not able to find a 95% IRR non-security tint from the website earlier, either 97% or 85%.

Was a little surprised when I got a call from Raytech KL that mentioned about RX-4mil comes with Ultra 70 for the windscreen at RM3100. But anyways already booked it with the shop yesterday, let's see how this combination pits against the V-Kool 70 that came FOC with the Teana in terms of heat rejection.

Good tint specs is important, but workmanship is even more critical in my opinion. Back in 2014 I went with Raytech as they were Honda panel back then, had some issues too with the workmanship and my windscreen Ultra 70 discolored after 2 years.

2 months ago just bought a new car and wanted the best available tint and decided to give Raytech another go, and unfortunately am disappointed with the workmanship sad.gif

why did all tint in malaysia (include that branded one) not cover warranty for faded as well if tint loses it heat rejection say after 2 years?

it is fall under wear n tear?
*
Faded tint should be covered in the warranty, at least for Raytech when promoting the tint to me. Faded and losing heat rejection is covered within the warranty.

Guys what is your opinion on 3M latest deal. RM1800 for their ceramic film for suv. I see they listed ceramic 50 n 70 got difference?
*
Based on the website, 50 and 75 is the VLT. Lower number = darker tint thus more TSER in total. Personally I've sat in a car tinted with Crystalline TSER 50% versus the ceramic 47%... the crystalline performed very good for me. So this ceramic would be a little less in terms of TSER but IRR Is err 97% versus 61% hmm.

if there is a slight small chip in my front windshield screen, can i still able to tint my screen?

Chip is outside right? Tinting is done inside, won't be an issue.

*
Intereting... the HO even better than Raytech RX eh... which model is it from HO? Next time can consider that too... I'm using RX at the moment.

What is your opinion of using the Raytech RX?

Also any problem with Smart Tag or phone GPS?
*
No issue with Smart Tag... but I'm a little skeptical about it. Smart Tag is working based on IR... and if this tint blocks 99% IR... how does Smart Tag work? Different wave length?

True. SmartTag is sending signal with Infrared (IR) . if a film is IRR 99% , only 1% signal go through . impossible smart tag can work on a film with IRR 99%.
*
Oh wait, its 98% (RX, Ultra 70) meaning only 2% can go through... so how does the smart tag works in this case...?

Lord Gitsy maybe can comment on this?

haverkamp looking at your product list.. your top range http://www.haverkamp-tinting.com.my/automo.../mt-70-ceramic/ will not work with smart tag too right? 97% IRR blocking?

yes. same with Crystalline. we recommend customer cut a small hole OR do not full cover revise mirror area.

but we also got some lady customer can pass through when drive 5 km/h at SmartTag tol.
*
This is what I'm curious on... I have the Ultra 70 (98% IRR on the spec sheet) still able to go through Smart Tag (but I wasn't zooming past the gate la, slow but don't think until 5 km/h haha...).

Sigh, starting to notice lines appearing on my windscreen (Raytech Ultra 70). My other car has Ultra 70 too but so far no lines appearing yet, it was fitted 1 year ago... is it the recent batch have quality issue? Should not be workmanship since both cars done at same place.

Damn unlucky this round since my windscreen was replaced twice, first tint had very obvious lines (waves), then second one had dents on it 😩 current one initially I noticed a bit of lines but not obvious so I ignore it, then now seems more areas have it. My old Myvi last time install cheap Rikecool had this issue only after 4 years, this one less than 3 months only 😩

Sometimes, I do wonder, why is it so as well, it happens to many tints, nothing specific to a brand. My rear window, has the same issue, on a 3M brand (likely hood due to heater), but my one other car, cap ayam, for 13 years, no such issue at all! ant it only cost rm3xx for the tint.
*
Maybe its one of the material used on the higher grade to achieve those specifications... but its still not that obvious yet so not gonna claim first.

Shouldn't work as per normal, no?

Smart Tag was designed to use Infra Red to communicate with the reader. If 90% of the communication medium is blocked, would it work 100% (as per normal) of the time at the recommended speed?

Or it would require you to slow down even more than the recommended speed.

Eg: with no tint, Smart Tag can work up to 20km/h (assuming the battery strength of your smart tag is in operating capacity. with tint of 90% IRR rejection, you would most certainly, need to slow down to around 2-4km/h to get through the smart tag lane.
*
This is what got me curious about, 3M Crystalline has issues with smart tag, but the Raytech Ultra 70 doesn't have... why tho? But previously I asked, Lord Gitsy said need to go slow... but I remember for Crystalline has to be like super turtle slow (like these wira going past a high bump LOL)..

Unless of course the IRR rejection is for certain wave length only... the 98% claimed for 300nm or something while Smart Tag running on another wave length perhaps?

I had my car tinted for 1 year already, using Raytech highest spec (Centurion RX + Ultra 70). So far for me the performance are not good enough. I still feel the car is very very hot if park for long time under the sun (not much different compare to my other car which just tint for 1.2k).

Anyone facing this issue? Or is there any way to check is my film really is ori raytech, or if it is ori, how do i know is rx and u70? And yes, I did my tinting in authorized raytech dealer.

Bring to HQ to verify?

I have been using raytech since 10 days ago. Found out that small bubbles(foreign particles?) coming out in certain area, almost unnoticeable but if looked carefully pretty annoying lah. Could I get warranty claim? I am afraid if these bubbles are considered within specification limit.
*
If is particle, would have been there all the while.. if not noticeable wait until it becomes worse only claim la.

It is on Safety film, should i wait for few months? It has just been two weeks since I installed the tints.
*
Check if there is dust in the bubble? If there is, it won't go away at all. If not so obvious then can ignore it la... mine previously got dust, but the dust was kinda huge ._. from far away also can see the bubble. So ended up replacing that side.

On some car models, eg. Mazda CX-5 1st version, it’s a No No.
Some users learnt it the hard way that the expansion and contraction of the film, due to on and off the light caused micro crack on the headlamp casing and water seeps into the light.
If you still want to go ahead, chose the tint wisely
*
Ah crap, I'm using Raytech's PPF on my head lamp... hopefully won't crack like what you mentioned... Civic's led headlamp.. won't be as hot as halogen/xenon right.
