Just tint my Mazda CX-5 yesterday using Hüper Optik. Initially was suggested Select 75 (FWS) and Ceramic 40 on the rest. End up opting for Ceramic 40 for entire car as was told Select 75 (and even Sech 60) may stumble upon issues with Smart Tag and access card for my condo due to the metal and other commodities in the film. C40 isn’t as dark as I want. Would have gone C30 but le misses is afraid of stumbling upon JPJ 😒. It looks ok dark now as my interior is in dark shade. Now waiting for the film to completely dry off and stick well with the screen.

Let’s see the heat dissipation/rejection and the rest are as good as it quoted or at least a good fight against our glorious sun.

*The above is solely my own opinion as yours may differ.
*
Just gotten my FWS C40 and rest C30

Crazy good against sun, however was regretting a bit as had issues on smart tag.
And since New tint, advised not to wind down window so opened door doh.gif

However after few days, smart tag working without the need to wind down window.

The HO darkness will go lighter as it deteriorates. Your C40 will become c60 in 5 years time biggrin.gif

nothing to complain if a product works as advertised for 10 years. Being protected from hot sun for RM1 a day for 10 years, what is there to complain.

Cheers.

Aye, my self justification for burning my wallet for branded tints

Anyone here heard of Rayno Tint Film or tried having it installed? They seem to be very new in the market but a simple search on Google produced a lot of good demo videos and their website is extremely informative too. It uses carbon nano ceramic technology backed by a 10 year warranty for discoloration, bubbling, etc. Seems rather promising but yet too come across any feedback fron personal owners.

QUOTE(Vervain @ May 26 2018, 07:44 PM)
guys. whats your take on rayno. the claim to be carbon ceramic
*
my Sister's new Persona just tinted with Rayno S9 series full car with 50 in front/driver and passenger and 20 in rear/left right passengers.

https://www.raynofilm.com/automotive/phantom-specs
specs vs Huper Optik on my 86
http://www.huperoptik.com.my/product

name/model VLT VLR IRR UVR TSER
Rayno S9 50 50 6.2-6.3 92 99.9 53
Rayno S9 20 20 5.1-5.4 93 99.9 64
Huper Optik C30 30 12 86 99 63
Huper Optik C40 42 9 80 99 55

Pricing wise S9 is actually on par/more expensive than HO, however with ongoing promotions/incentives to enter the market as a newcomer, they are usually few hundred cheaper.
Example: HO Ceramic series full car about 1.9-2.1k
Rayno S9 will be about 1.6-1.8k

Haven't really driven around under hot sun, so user review to be posted a bit later.

Anyone here tried Llumar tinted ATR20 for whole car windows? Wonder VTL21% will looked nice on white civic car or not, and will it difficult to see during night time?

Now dilemma between go for 35% or 20% VTL on whole car.. in term of looking nice and viewing at night.

Heard some people said if too dark tinted, the car will looked like lala style also.
*
Too dark too low VLT you'll definitely affect night visibility.

And don't think it's only your vision your safety.

Example: if other car cannot see past your rear window that cars in front has stopped suddenly prompting you too stop suddenly, they will bang you.
Imagine it's a big vehicle that cannot stop in time and due to weight, force and momentum greater, more severe impact.

Vehicles behind must be able to see past your car. Worse if you're tall SUV.

even side windows matter! Your side mirrors visibility is important as well when you're overtaking/checking blind spots.
You can say it's motorcyclists fault if they bang you, but your car still damaged and it'll still suck, no?

=Edit due to phone auto correct errors=

Also, car look like seafood or not, should be the least of your concern when it comes to dark tints

Going to claim my windscreen insurance and the shop recommended Rayno 8080 with the following specs:
- VLT: 80%
- IR: 80%

But can't seems to find the details of this tint in their website. Anyone has experience with Rayno tint?

Thanks
*
My sister's Persona Rayno very good.
Very cooling even under hot sunny day comparable to my darker looking Huper Optik.

Not sure which model she gotten though, VLT definitely much lower than 80 (as in 80% visible, not 20% visible, unless your 80 is terbalik spec and only 20% visible super dark tints )

Thanks for the feedback. Yes the 80% is for the transmittance since it's for the front windscreen, I prefer clear type as it's more visible at night, also lesser issue with JPJ during roadblocks  tongue.gif

Did she do it herself? Or through the sales agent? How much was the price?
*
I recommended her to Kepong rainbow as that's where I done my Huper over 10 years ago.

She self paid IINM 2k ish (or just slightly less than 2k introductory price?)

Not through Proton SA

Now, the protection of dashboard fading, leather seat....that good tints will extend the life much much longer.

Now comes the TSER reading. Even cheap house brand tint can claim 67% TSER vs same TSER of premium tint...you believe that?
Even branded tint TSER calculation sometimes I also doubt.....coz I see higher end tint with TSER 67%, then their own lower end tint also TSER 60++...I also blur..may as well take lower end tint coz also 60+ TSER.

But then when used in real life experience, that premium tint TSER seems to be nearer to as listed but the cheaper one..haiz, some worked as expected...then couple of years, total failure.

So takes TSER with a pinch of salt as well. Sometimes word of mouth or indepth review of existing users matters way more. Better yet, sit in car with the specs you want, see how.

Just the interior lasting longer avoiding damage from heat and sunlight, is enough reasons for me to always go for good branded reputable tints.

I've been on Huper Optik for Iswara, Eco Tints (stock tints for-) Proton Inspira, then my GT86 went with Huper > then eventually currently today SunTek + Llumar + Huper (only the rear windscreen remaining)

My old 2013 300k GT86 plastic trims are still, ok ok, and I think tints definitely contributed.

1. My front windscreen is constantly not being able to use Smart Tag
2. My rear windshield is having this problem (refer picture), is this the installer fault or the Llumar tint really have this issue?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

3. Finally, every single piece of tint around the corner/dead end area have small bubble, is this normal and i have to "wait it out" or "put it under the sun" to let it go away?
*
I'm a Llumar user since 2022 till now, 3rd or 4th car tint with Llumar already, latest being CRV with latest titanium 8 package (T8-35) where the side windows security film are 8mil thickness (visibly thick when looking from sides against the window glass, crazy)

and these new tints, have new guideline of up to 60days (3 months) curing time:
Attached Image
with that out of the way.

1) issue with your tint(or installer)
I previously had AIR50-65 (if i remember correctly) and now CTX50 also no issues with smart tag ever.

2) installer fault, but give them chance for the tint to cure, if after a week or 2 still same, go back claim. Llumar have between 5 to 10 years of warranty depending what package you gotten.
my current Titanium 8 is 7 years
previous TCP6 is 5 or 6 years.

3) ya please refer attachment.
however if it's an OBVIOUS bubble, and ESPECIALLY if you can see a speck of dust or dirt within the center of the bubble, then no curing will work. it'll be permanently there.
hence in those cases, claim and re-do.

Decided on Llumar Security + Solar Tint. I’ve been using Diamond 6 for my past 2 cars and been happy with it. Changing to Llumar Pinnacle - 4 this round.

Front & Back Pinnacle 50 (VLT55, UVR99, IRR95, TSER50)
Sunroof Pinnacle 35 (VLT38, UVR99, IRR96, TSER55)
Sides Pinnacle 4-50 (VLT55, UVR99, IRR96, TSER51)

Offered RM5k for my BYD Sealion 7. Apparently it comes with JPJ saman warranty - if kena saman JPJ, they will settle the saman laugh.gif Will update with pics when I install it end of the month biggrin.gif

Pinnacle is not security tint right?

If so, curious, because not confident with titanium 8? tongue.gif

Pinnacle has normal & security. The sides are 4mm security. Titanium has lower TSER values though https://llumar.com.my/automotive/ Of coz, this is on paper spec
*
I see.
Btw you mean 4mil?
It's not exactly 4mm, and it's some weird confusing designation lol
Imagine titanium 8 being 8mm, almost one cm
No way man tongue.gif

Yes I think titanium is performing better than paper specs
But, it's thick lol
You can seriously see (and obviously feel) the thickness at the window edges

=edit=
ok i just googled, and thankfully Llumar got added the micron rating

Tint milmicronmetric
4mil1000.1mm
8mil2000.2mm
