Hey folks,

Need to tint my W211 E-Class (no tint previously). Requirements:

- Obviously JPJ compliant
- No issues with Smartag and phone GPS (dont want to wind down window nor hold Smartag very close to mirror)
- My car is silver and I dont quite like the fancy coloured tints.
- Very good heat rejection
- Help to cut glare
- Side must be security tint

Have 3M on my other car windscreen - not bad but have some issues with Smartag. Have V-Kool on another car...was good but heat rejection wasnt fantastic.

Appreciate your recommendation and dealers - feel free to PM me your best quote. BTW, I am located in PJ and happy to travel around KL/Selangor as long as the shop has good workmanship and I get a good deal.

Cheers.

Hi Sir,

For front windscreen you can choose our 3M Ceramic 75 series which have no problem with smart tag. And the side using Nano series.

Spec for Ceramic 75
(72% VL Transmittance , 40% TSER, 44% IR Rejection, 99% UV Rejection, 19% Glare Reduction)

Spec for Nano 70
(66% VL Transmittance , 50% TSER, 97% IR Rejection, 99.9% UV Rejection, 22% Glare Reduction)

The one with smart tag issue will be crystalline series which have very high IR Rejection which cause Smart Tag that using Infrared to work. As you can see at below the IR rejection at 97%, so you have to compromise the heat rejection with slighly lower spec film so that smart tag can be work.

Spec for Crystalline 70
(68% VL Transmittance , 50% TSER, 97% IR Rejection, 99.9% UV Rejection, 22% Glare Reduction)

Our shop located at Bangsar. Already Pm you more detail. smile.gif

Done my tint at 3M Ampang, went there after reading many good feedback. In fact, they do provide very good and professional service, most important is very good price.  rclxms.gif I went to another accessories shop to install few things and they said the tint job is very well done.

The lady boss is very friendly and do final round of inspection on the tints before deliver back the car to me.

The heat rejection is superb and very satisfactory. No problem with Smart tag and auto gate too. I just place the smart tag underneath the black dots area on my windscreen when passing through the smart tag gate.

Thanks for your feedback, Customer satisfaction is our first priority. thumbup.gif
Hope you enjoy your cool ride.

Hi everyone,  Lately the tint of my windscreen starting to have bubble already. Another thing to note is the windscreen actually got a small line of crack  . is it still possible to install tints on it? [attachmentid=4251641]
*
Not recommended to install tint on cracked windscreen as the crack may get worst and you will wasted your tint on it. Better replace it if you want to install tint on your car.

hi, wanna ask. tinted sell at groupon good or not??
*
Depend, if those below rm300, better don't as usually with such price you only can get colour film. Later 1-2 years you need to spend another rm100-200 just to remove the film. But if you just need safety feature not the solar feature, then it's ok to go for it.

Hi all sifu here, im plan to apply for the 2nd layer tint for 4 side window.
Can the 2nd layer install on the other side of the window instead of install on the existing tint.?
*
We can't install in outside as the tint will easily spoil when we wash car and expose to weather.

No advisable to apply second layer on existing tint, as you will void the current and the new tint warranty. better just remove it and install a better tint.

is mixing brand cant register warranty?
coz the shop owner said cant..if want 3m...3m all...same goes like other brand

n is it true 3m crystalline 50 not covered by warranty?
*
All 3M autofilm include crystalline is come with 5 Years warranty.

If overlapping for sure will void the warranty as if somethings happened, the old tint will blame the new tint, and the new tint will blame the old tint and it's never ending. So no company will provide warranty if product installed on the same windows is come from different brand.

We can do overlapping for you if you insist to do so but the risk will be on you. Hope this clear your doubt. smile.gif

went to installed 3m crystalline on front wind screen and 3m nano series on side windows today in a shop listed in official 3m site.

I have learned that one of the way to identify genuine 3m crystalline tint is to look for a dot matrix 3m logo on the tint itself (which is removable with spirit upon request). My FWS and RWS tint do have such logo but i was informed by the shop that the nano series do not have such feature (no dot matrix logo) for identification.

Is the shop telling the truth? 3m nano series really do not carry the removable dot matrix 3m logo?
*
Yes, 3m Nano series do not have the 3m watermark logo.

Hi

My friend's car - a bmw was fixed with a well known safety tint - 4 mil. He stopped his car at a traffic light. 2 guys in a motorbike broke the passenger glass so easily by just using a spark plug. 2 or 3 hits the entire glass shattered.

I am a bit surprised to see this. My questions are

a) Can a safety tint just be broken by an instrument made using a spark plug
b) Does different tint brands have different weak points and thieves are aware of it.
c) Safety tint should stick together right. This one the whole glass came down!
d) Does thieves can easily identify the tint type - the brand/whether safety or not?

Would appreciate those in the know how can explain so that we can protect ourselves.

Thanks
*
A safety film should shattered at the point of impact, but the shattered glass should be holding by the film and wouldn't fall in whole piece. Not so sure why the whole glass came down, perhaps you should ask for explanation from the installer.

Please tell me... What is the pro and contra of m3 n ray tech? Planning to place security tinted  for my car. I servey he m3 price is 2480... Ray tech 2500.  Current m3 or raytech is gps and smart tag friendly or not?
*
Do you mean 3M autofilm? 3M crystalline will not work for smart tag due to 97% infrared rejection, you may use 3M ceramic 75 at front windscreen if you want to use smart tag. And all 3M film will have no problem with GPS as 3M autofilm is not Metal base film.

Maybe you can pm me your car's modal so that i can give you our best offer from 3M.

Is there any brand offer VLT 90%? Highest VLT that I mostly come across is 70 to 80% VLT only.
*
3M do have crystalline 90 with spec below

Crystalline 90 (86% VL Transmittance , 34% TSER, 90% IR Rejection, 99.9% UV Rejection, 3% Glare Reduction)

But as this film have very less demand and people only want to install at the front windscreen only. So the left over after cut out for the front windscreen will be waste as no people want to install at side windows or others place. So we didn't order and sell for this crystalline 90 as it will take very very long time to finish up a roll of film and we will also charge higher then usual as the wasted left over we will charge on you.

Maybe if there is enough demand like group order or bulk request from here, Yes we can order it and supply to you all.

I can say 3M crystalline 90 is one of the best you can find in term of heat rejection (34% TSER) with such high 86% VLT. And the only choice if you want to compliance with JPJ.

hi! I want to ask .. My car already tinted with 3m Crsytalline 70 for all windows .. The heat rejection is ok .. But its not dark ..

Can I tint it again? Is it bad to layer the first tinted? Nowadays many case of robbery at traffic light, as a woman Im scared .. So i want to take prevention ..
*
Sure you can remove it and tint again. But of cause you have to bare the cost.

And also it's not advisable to add on second layer as it will void the 3M warranty.
