Hi, is it normal for car SAs to intro tints? Mine did and it's because he's trying to get a figure to be included into the windshield protection plan from insurance. Apparently my car SAs is trying to introduce me a few reputable brands tints before they release my new car and the tinting work will be done at the SCs, and that the SAs doesn't recommend tinting job outside of the SCs as any shoddy work might void warranties of the car that it affects(dripping liquid on dashboard might damage the circuit underneath, side window tint that might damage the window motor, etc)
I'm just afraid of getting conned by paying premium price for product of unknown origin. According to my SAs each tint will come with a warranty card with serial number that can be verified on the manufacturer website. Is this the standard practice now a days for most, if not all tinting manufacturers?
Any advice will be help, thanks.
1. Your windscreen insurance has nothing to do with the tinting recommended by the SA. Normally owner will add on front windscreen + tinting (only front) coverage to your car insurance premium. Anyway, you can add the coverage later for your tinting after knowing the price
2. On the warranty part, installation done within their arrangement will fully cover by the showroom. However if you decide to install after delivery, all the defect might arise during the installation shall born by the owner and they are not responsible.
3. Yes, go for reputable brand as they more willing to compensate if there is anything happen to your car.
This reputable company will provide warranty and cash bill on the spot after the installation.
