So far used it for 1 year and it's pretty good for its price (I can't remember the model I installed but it's the highest end).

Which Hamel model ya?
If you go for Hamel Royale, the price is equivalent to 3M Crystalline or so
My CX-5 is on Hamel Royale for almost 4 years now (next year CNY).
So far, I'm very satisfied with the performance of the tint.
Workmanship-wise, the installer at Seksyen 15 Shah Alam did a great job and I do not have to go back to them after the installation.

Only early this year I changed the windscreen tint to VKool V40 (under insurance due to replacement of crack windscreen) as I want darker tint from the 70% VLT of the Hamel Royale

Thinking of their Gold package.
95% IRR front
85% IRR for other windows.

999myr. Or for budget less than 1k, is there other options better?

Vkool REM is this legit?

For X50, I got offer as such:

Vkool Elite (windscreen) + Vkool REM 50 (front drive/passenger) + Vkool REM 40 (rear passenger/rear windscreen)

Total RM2,200

Decent? Or should I go for regular, non-REM Vkool?

Depends on your budget.. typically VKool quote for X50 is in RM3500-4000 range. I don't think the REM40/50's TSER is competitive.

Compared to 3M:
a. VLT 50%: VKOOL REM50 TSER 31%, 3M CR50 59% TSER
b. VLT 40%: VKOOL REM40 TSER 49%, 3M CR40 62% TSER

I got another quote as such:

Vkool Elite 70 (windscreen) + Vkool 55 (front drive/passenger) + Vkool 40 (rear passenger/rear windscreen)

Total RM3,300. This is from Tint Shop, official authorised Vkool partner (is listed on Vkool Malaysia website).

I can't find the TSER though for Vkool.

Hi Sifus,
I'm getting a Tint for my HR-V

I have two quotation so far
1) VK Elite for whole Car RM 2800

2) Windscreen VK Elite
side & Rears
Rem40/50 Rm1,900

In your opinion is it worth it to go VK Elite all the way and if I go for option 2 will the experience be noticeable?

Here's my usage scenario
1) I will usually not likely park my car under sun for more than 3 hours.
2) Drive in Highway for maybe 1 or twice a month

Here's my personal review on Totalgard Ceramic Plus. I follow jpj spec windscreen vlt 70 | front side 50 | rear side & windscreen 30

Got to know this brand after reading this thread, apparently their previous famous brand are Sahara-X that have the same concept - high IRR & Tser with competitive pricing. Don't know what happen to that brand now as no one talking about it anymore. Hopefully their current totalgard package can be sustainable.

What I like:
Good customer service - explain in details & responsive. They will provide demonstration and answer to your questions in professional manner. Additional point, their staff following SOP & wearing double mask too.
Competitive pricing - I can't find others tint that offer similar spec at this price. If you able to find one, please let me know! I want to explore further.

My complaint (same like yours):
Workmanship! Dust trap, tiny bubbling, cleanliness... u name it
I paid extra for the old tint removal, the installer spoilt my original black film that come with the car.
They apply the tint in the warehouse without proper work area. After installation done, my car became very dirty. All the water stains on the fabric seats, glue mark on car panel, dirty watermark on the window. Clearly they don't have clean water to wash their towel and just wipe like it.

They promise to re-tint the affected area after mco end. But my doubt actually with the 3rd party installer, if their skill still the same then just waste of time to visit them again.

TL;DR: If you're on budget & don't mind the worksmanship & hassle to visit them again - then go ahead.
If budget not an issue & busy in schedule - then better look for reputable top range tint.

Hope Totalgard staff/management able to see this post and make improvement on the issue brought up. I got another car that need tinting and I don't mind giving them another chance if they can promise the issue has been resolve. If everything fail, I'll post up the photo of my car tint that looks terrible.

dropped you a PM. G Guard service is very good, and they don't simply up sell you. It is base on your requirement and usage pattern.

If you want to see the workmanship of XR plus on real car, tell the boss, he will call me. I can drop by, since it is 15min drive away from my home.

Can PM your review also? Thanks.

Hopefully it's good deal for money value.

Anyone applied Lavish window film before? Please share your experience after several years of driving with Lavish window film.

I just installed 70% VLT tint in my front windscreen, but realized now that it's darker compared to my friend's car with same VLT tint.

I checked my car and it seems that it use a 70% solar glass. How much is my windscreen VLT now and anyone has similar experience? How dangerous is it to drive like this?

For d segment sedan.

3M vs LLumar different a lot in terms of price? Roughly about how much ya? I just know 3M is about 2.5k. (Lets say I take highest grade film for both brand.)

Thanks.

3M Crystalline is about 2.5k.

You can get Llumarr T8 series which is about 2.5k or the Diamond series which is about 2.9k.

Keep in mind that the diamond series has a slight green tint to it. Might not be suitable for some car colors!

Hi guys, I am planning to tint my car, and i have went to few stores to survey the price.

I have filtered out most of the stores and now im left with two choices.

Any Sifu can advise?

1. Crystalline 70, 3M official dealer (whole car) = rm 3k
No image as they dun allow me to take picture but if i remember correctly, it should have 97 IRR, 50 TSER and 99.99 UVR

2. Blaupunkt Antartica A50BK (whole car) = rm2k
IRR 95, UVR 99, TSER not mentioned
