I also looking at Hamel seems not bad and quite cheap.
I see all their products comes with 5mm security tint which most other brands does not have it for lower range film.

Seems like no competitor nobody commenting about this brand yet.

Just done mine at Hamel kepong as well. Platinum series 1399 + SUV 100 = 1499. The work quality quite good but let see whether some small little tiny bubbles will gone in few days or not. 10 years warranty, they cover jpj saman, heat drop 10% within 3-5 years and of course they will either fix or change if the bubble still there.. One thing i like is all tinted Sifu are local. After the tinted, I can immediately feel the difference under the hot weather.

just tinted my car with Hamel Platinum series, RM1399

front VLT 70%, sides 50% and rear 30%. they will absorb any cost if you kena jpj saman

UV 99%, IRR 95% and TSER 56%, warranty 10 years
will see how it goes but so far very satisfied with the workmanship and the price

Instead going for well known brand, I opted for Hamel for it’s photocromic tint. I opted for 30% VLT for all the windows except the windscreen which I went for their 70%.
For the rear windscreen, the ori skytint was double tinted.
All in, cost me about Rm2.2k

Hi Hamel users - any comments on the tint so far? Heat rejection, deterioration, etc...
All of you use the photochromatic tint? Thanks notworthy.gif

Heat rejection quite good.

Photochromatic only available for windscreen, im using it but still kinda weird how it works.
Sometimes from outside cant see inside at all while sometimes still can see, during morning time. I guess it depends on the light position.

I'm using Hamel Royale on my CX-5 for 2 years already.
Heat rejection is quite good although for my side and rear I'm using 30% VLT, which will fail JPJ test for the driver and front passenger side.
For windscreen, I'm using the 70% VLT which is photochromic.
The effect is not so obvious as the windscreen has already blocked some UV light already.
I do have white Storm-trooper figurine on the dashboard ever since I tinted the ws with Hamel and the figurine still remains white and have not change to yellowish.

Yes, you should drop them a line and enquire. Passat and Sorento is a common model, So hopefully they have stock for these 2 models. Good luck.

Got another quotation, this one from Raytech.
FWS - Centurion RX
Sides and RWS - AX

RM1500.

Thinking of getting this one but so many bad review for Raytech here.
My budget can go up to rm2500. but if can get cheaper one with same quality, why not?

What is the price for huper optik, 3M, or Llumar tint for X70? Looking for high heat rejection and value for money. No need security film. I also like darker films but must cover jpj.

From these i can say 90% of the tinted car in malaysia does not meet recent JPJ rules. Usually the officer will not stop you unless your tinted paper is too dark.
As long as they can see you through the mirror, you are passed.

For puspakom examination, JPJ do know your tinted paper are 90% changes does not passed their test, they will surely request you to tear it off before the test.
(Only happen if you want to sell off your vehicle)

For consumer, we concern on the below

1. TSER = Total Solar Energy Rejection (Real heat rejection) > 60%
2. IRR = 90%< Infrared Rejection <95%, don't go beyond 95%, or your GPS or Smart Tag might have issue.
3. UVR = Ultraviolet Radiation, >100, this is always more than 100, up to 400
4. Warranty, degration on TSER
5. Warranty, bubbled, how many pixer
6. Warranty, scar
7. Warranty, blur
8. Warranty, change in color

Commonly we look into these few items, how many years the tinted shop will cover for us.
Forget about the VLT, as long as they can see you through the windows during road block, you are clear to go.

In order to have a VLT really passed JPJ rules, you may need the tinted paper VLT > 90%, provided your car windows are originally 80% VLT
*
so what tint you got installed now?
as for JPJ, got raytech actually offered me they will pay the JPJ summons if kena, then if need to tear because of roadblock, they will replace as well, using summons as proof.
