May I ask what's the main difference between security tint (those mirror type?) and darker normal tint, other than privacy, as i think dark tint (considering now we can put on 0% for rear windows) also has privacy feature now.

Thinking to change all my rear windows with darker tint for my CX5 gen2. Any recommended/trusted shops around PJ with reasonable price?

Security film by mean is thicker film and harder to break the window by force, designed meant to prevent snatch theft.
Darker tint doesnt mean better heat rejection. Some film can be full black, but got no effect on heat rejection.

What is your requirement before you decide:
1) You need security film or just good heat rejection film
2) U wan heat rejection film or just simply dark tinted

recently tint my car and found these issues below:
kindly help me review as need go back find the shop and talk to them.

FWS - if looking outside the object, noticeable got a bit wavy across the windscreen
(is it tint film issue ? or poor workmanship ?)

Side window - got small small dot bubble, like got small tiny dust trap inside.
(this highly suspect poor workmanship, correct ?)

I have another car go for tint at different shop, but dont have such issue at all. And the price even more cheaper.

Security film is a film that prevent yr mirror shattered from impact, well security film can break as well, its will take longer time to break from theft,
Especially LLumar which is superior on Security film and fair price.

Darker Normal Film.
Some products which have excellent of Heat resistance they will offer cheap price.
But i think u guys will wonder why so black.
Because of their original tint film is not so high heat resistance, so they darken up the film to boost up their heat resistance.
Normally this kind of tint film last only 2+years

Would like to ask for recommendation on tint brand on my new MyVi.

Budget roughly RM1.5K
Just normal tint not security one
Heat rejection around 75+% would be suffice
Warranty around 7 years+ if possible

thanks

Recently got vcool installed. They didnt clean the windscreen properly and got a patch of sticker mark trapped in between tint and windscreen. Is this covered under warranty?

Ceramic based tint some have very good IR/heat rejection, causing smart tag problem, but I think that is about it.

VKool being metallic tint have a lot of issues. Of course, if you are not using GPS, smart tag, gate pass, or home gate remote, then these issues won't cause you any inconvenience.
If going to pay so much, why get VKool metallic tint which cause so much issue and inconvenience, especially to a driver who will be using GPS to navigate around, smart tag to pay toll, need to stick RFID outside the car and most importantly, inhibits adding more stress at the end of the day by hindering you from reaching your home.

Ayam using RayTech should be Metallic tint have problem with gate pass but no problem with smart tag?

GPS working with full signal? Or will jump around to different road nearby many times? VKool also working but detection is slow. Same car different tint same location, smart tag detect slow. My car when passing toll will show no smart tag, then only detected. Another similar car with other tints don't have this issue. It will detect, but need to slow down to 10km/h and slowly roll through, else it cannot detect smart tag at all.

gps mostly ok no jump often.
smart tag common i guess need to slow down.

i think if cant detect will never detect no matter what no? like gate pass really cannot detect unless wind down window.

Mine will not detect at all when new, now 4 years later same position, can detect but will jump around and say I am on another road parallel to the one I'm driving, or say I went to another road in another direction. The tinting effect degrades over time then only can detect.

i dont care about smarttag, i can slow down at toll booth or worst i can open my windows and stick out smarttag. the only thing important to me is the GPS.

from the reading i found that most of the

1. Vkool user has very good heat rejection and has GPS problem
2. HO user has average heat rejection and no GS problem
3. 3m user has good heat rejection and no GPS problem
4. Raytech has good heat rejection but has GPS problem
5. LLumar has good heat rejection but has GPS problem

Can some confirm this? if I'm wrong.

Not really a big problem for GPS.. I would say maybe 2 out of 10 times, that also if there are few parallel roads.
