Forgot to mention, the VLT is customisable (VLT 80%, 70%, 40%, 20%) with the four IRR options as listed above.

Hi, as I posted in page 443 it's Coolgard. With VLT 80%, there are 4 options for IRR as below. The highest IRR will give a coolest cabin. The top 2 (IRR 95% and IRR 88%) are recommended so if you want to save a bit of cost, can go with 2nd highest.

1) Irr 95% rm830
2) Irr 88% rm680
3) Irr 75% rm580
4) Irr 65% rm380

I took VLT 70% with IRR 95%.

For Raytech, more or less for walk-in or direct 3rd party installation.

Hi, Appreciate your kind input. Are the prices above mentioned applicable for the whole car or just on front windscreen only ?
Last but not least, which branch of Coolgard did you go for the installation of the tint ya ?

Only the front windscreen. My sales advisor arranged for me to install at the Coolgard branch since I bought the Nissan car, so I don't know which branch is it. I can inquire if you want to know.

Just my advice from my experience. For front and side windscreens if you want light ie. VLT 70%+/- for front and VLT 50%+/- for front side, try to avoid those cheap tints ie. RM599 for whole car. In my experience it's not good. It may be good if you choose a very dark tint then the heat rejection may be good, I don't know since I've not tried. I have not found a brand of tint that has respectable heat rejection performance priced below RM1k for whole car. If there is, I would appreciate if anyone can advise. For me, The Totalgard already failed although there are claims the performance is comparable to V-kool tint. Just my opinion and experience. Those who claimed the Totalgard is good installed a dark tint on the front windscreen, around VLT50% or lower. Some installed VLT 30% or 20% for the front windscreen so their experience may be different. I'm not sure how they drive in those conditions though especially at night.

The last time I tested my VKool Elite on my City windscreen, it read 64% VLT. So I think all VLT 70% tint will fail Puspakom anyway and I gave up trying to go for VLT70% tint when I re-tint.

I guess only 80% VLT tint can pass Puspakom but 80% heat resistant is only slightly better than no tint. The only advantage of it is UV filtering and additional IRR filtering to protect your dashboard and leathers.

So I go for VLT60% tint, still very clear tint but noticeble dimmer than 70% (not dark, just dimmer when put side by side comparison) but bright enuf to look like clear tint. The heat resistance is noticeably better too. VLT does contribute to 44% of heat resistance. Coupled with real high IRR, worked great. (When I say real IRR, means over 90% IRR that worked as it should, not some of those cheap house tint listed sky high IRR high and never seems to work as it listed).

So clear tint at 70%, I think nothing beats VKool Elite at durability and real life heat resistant. It's just that no other tint can beat its high price too...hahaha. So I go for the next best metallic sputter I can find, so far I'm good with Irispro D60 and DX60. Premium price tho but nowhere near VKool pricing.

VKool Elite for front windscreen smart tag friendly lar. 3M Crystalline is really not smart tag friendly.

IMO, for clear tint with the best heat resistance and durability, VKool Elite is the one but then the price is also the one...that is super high nowadays. Good if you can afford it.

Most other brands all have their proponents and detractors, some say good, some say not good, really depends on budget, expectation, etc. Some prefer metallic sputter tints for heat reflection, some prefer ceramics, etc.

Raytech also premium pricing and in generally consider a good tint, peeling off, I think that one likely poorly install or maybe the lower range. Normally these branded tints are quite lasting and don't peel off unless aging or damage or poor installation.

You can try Irispro metallic sputter tint (the premium range, DX60, D60, etc). I replaced my VKool Elite with it. Still premium pricing for top range but consider mid-range pricing liao when compare with VKool. Excellent performance so far with 10 years warranty but durability, not test...newly installed. Some vouched for Totalgard, much cheaper but those have their detractors, as said, depends on your budget and expectation.

Many brands, there is really no best thing after VKool Elite. I would recommend Irispro DX due to its silver metallic sputter tint. It is however available only in VLT 58%. I replaced my Persona and Civic windscreen with this. Still looks clear but obviously slightly dimmer than VKool VLT 70 tint. Do note that VKool Elite will fail Puspakom anyway, mine measured 64% reading before change to Irispro DX60 at 54%. Looks like clear tint with more greenish hue, wont get stop in roadblock BUT puspakom will fail. Smart tag friendly. Only those 80% VLT will likely pass Puspakom for Windscreen.

3M can supposedly match VK Elite but smart tag not friendly is a big turn off for me that uses highway.
